yall are missing the point. ice and snow is something we rarely see. just like hurricanes and tornados are something the north would rarely see.

and its ICE.....for the love of god....its ICE stop saying snow
Fam...............a tornado is a fockin destructive force of nature that can rip houses from their foundations and pick freighter trucks up in the air and make em flip like gymnastics. Ice breh? :beli:

once again you are missing the point....im not saying ice is as bad as a tornado or a hurricane. but it would be harder for someone up north to prepare for a hurricane because they never see one. we never see ice and snow so its harder for us to prepare. do u get what im saying?

goons in the cut tryna talk you out yo necklace
Like back in 2011 when like 30 people died in that heat wave in Chicago. It was 90 degrees for a few days and people up there thought the world was ending. It wasn't even that humid up there.

Or when Hurricane Sandy hit NYC. They didnt know what to do.

Let a Tornado hit a major city up north and go right thru downtown like that one did here some years back. Those people would have no clue what to do.

post this in the bigger thread but i feel its powerful to put it here too

You know what at first i thought this was funny but i just saw on CNN they said kids was stuck on the highway in school buses over night NO FOOD ,WATER OR BATHROOMs. shyt is sad, real talk.

but honestly i hope Katrina,Sandy and this ATL snow storm teaches people (blacks and browns am looking at you ) DON'T DEPEND ON THE GOVERNMENT TO HAVE YOUR BACK in anyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy type of situation. With these type of deals ALWAYS PREPARE FOR THE WORSE.

I remember right before sandy i went out and bought two 10 gallons plastic barrels , bunch of flashlights , a box of 100 candles, lighters etc etc, filled both our cars with gas. Everyone i knew laughed at me and said i was tripping it was just a hurricane hitting south jersey and am in north jersey hours away. Sure enough when the power went out. I was the only one with enough candles, battery's, flashlights and drinkable water for days.

For future reference here is what i typically do whenever i hear about any crazy type of weather heading my way ( i prep at least day before)

1. watch the news and be update to as when its going to hit, as rule of thumb i have learned to adjust timing, if they say its going to snow at 7pm expect snow at 5pm etc, if they say its going to snow 4 inches prepare for 8 in etc , but be on top of whats happening, you got expensive as cable and cellphones for a reason other than twitter and instagram

2. Have CASH ON HAND, at least $200 cash , if power goes out = ATM machines/card swippers don't work , if u need to buy goods our shyt out luck

3. if you have cars fill them up with gas, don't go by "i have enough gas" fill them up with gas, all the cars, your car your wife's car, your baby mommas car. You don't want to be stuck on the highway or somewhere else and run out of gas / gas stations have 5 hour lines

4. WATER WATER WATER, you can use water to drink, cook and clean. 3 of the most important things in your life, but u so used to opening a faucet or a bottle. Like i said earlier go to the dollar store/home depot and buy your self a couple 10-20 gallon plastic buckets. Fill them up with water and just leave them there. Also 3-5 cases of bottled water, Obviously the large the family the more you will need.

5. Flashlights, lighters, matches and candles. second most important set of things you can have, if only for that fact that being in the dark is depressing and dangerous. I keep ONE FLASHLIGHT PER ROOM , that's every room, bathroom and basement included. In this same rooms i keep a pack of battery that would fit these flashlights, next up is candles and lighters. Lights go out u light a candle per room. Matches and lighters can also be used to heat stuff up or start up a gas oven

6. EXTRA FOOD, notice i said extra cause am assuming also your a broke college student you live in home where u keep at least 3 days worth of food. This extra food that buy needs to be stuff like canned food that will last well into and after said disaster. Don't buy break, milk or stuff that will spoil unless u planning on eat that stuff first.

*EXTRAS*
- pet food
- baby food
- extra container with gas
- solar,hand powered radio & or flashlight
- jump starter kit for your car, not jumping cables, a actually kit to jump your car
- first aid kit/ extra meds for headaches, stomach aches, fever

One last thing before i end this rant, its crazy to me to see so many people laughing at whats going on in ATL which is a moslty black city, but at the same time dudes on here spend all day making thread talking about "fuk cacs" "we need to do better "how can we better ourselves" but will be the first ones to crack on some people the same color as them in trouble.

You know what white folks do soon as shyt like this goes down? They organize themselves. Food drives, supply drives etc etc ( dont believe peep the white boy on the ATV pic posted in this same thread)

Atlanta snowstorm may mean Halloween baby boom
Cox Media Group Web Staff

ATLANTA —

If some recent severe weather events around the country are any indication, Atlanta-area hospital maternity wards may want to be sure they have some extra staff working close to Halloween.

For the lucky Atlantans who were able to actually make it home from Tuesday's snowstorm traffic jam, Wednesday may have been a day when they had some idle time on their hands.

Recent history shows that many Americans choose to spend their snow days snuggling with that special someone in their life.

According to WebMD, the average length of a pregnancy in the U.S. is 39 weeks. That would mean that around October 29, Atlanta hospitals might expect to see a spike in the number of pregnant women ready to deliver.

Dr. Robert Graebe at the Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, N.J., was quoted by New York's Fox 5 News as saying nine months after Hurricane Sandy, his neonatal unit saw a 30 percent jump in deliveries from the previous year.

“It was a crazy time,” Dr. Steven Morgan, who practices obstetrics and gynecology at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, N.J., told the New York Daily News. “A lot of people were home, a lot of people didn’t have TV, and obviously a lot of reproduction was happening.”

Heather Thompson, the executive director of nursing for women’s services at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis said that her hospital has also seen statistical spikes tied to weather or other events.

“We think back and reflect and sure enough there’s been either a snowstorm or some big event that folks celebrated,” she toldCBS St. Louis after a snowstorm hammered the midwest in early January.

Thompson said the most recent example she saw was in the summer of 2012 — nine months after the St. Louis Cardinals won the 2011 World Series.

"One day we actually had a hundred babies admitted to the hospital,” she told CBS St. Louis. “We birthed about a hundred babies in a 2-3 day time period. And that’s a very high number.”

Tell me what tread I need to ride on black ice thats not treated with salt? Please I'd like to know breh.

your whole city can't be black iced out breh. that just sounds impossible. I'm not even in here trying to clown, Just we get a shyt ton of horrible snow/ice based roads in minnesota and usually good tires dead any type of fukkery. Now black ice is devilish I agree but it usually won't have you sliding down hills like those vids posted or have a whole city walking deaded out. but it is the south and ya'll probably don't deal with that shyt at all.

You should be here. The whole perimeter is fukked up. Outside of the perimeter, things are getting better.

I'll take your word for it. the midwesterner in me can't help but go "these nikkas fooling" you must understand that. But despite all that I hope ya'll cats be safe. black ice aint no joke, just totalled my shyt (was bout to reup my tires the next week too :sadcam: ) getting caught lacking on that shyt and I've been dealing with it daily for years. I can only imagine a bunch of nikkas used to perfect roads having to tussle with it. Be safe brehs :salute:
