In order for women back then to know that their man still loved them, the men would often act like gentlemen every now and then (open the door for them etc.).
Do you see the picture now? Women like confident, sometimes dangerous, men who aren't pushovers. It's a plus if those men act like gentlemen from time to time to show the woman that he cares about them.

I’ve said this before but I know numerous grown women that have never had orgasms during penetration with a man. Some even have children... I think the reason we’re seeing more women speak candidly about lack of attraction and bad sex is because these days it’s rare for a woman to have had less than a couple of sex partners.
The more sex partners a woman has, the more challenging it is to get her to settle in the long term for mediocre sex when she knows that good sex is a possibility because she’s had it before. People who tell women to get over it or that it doesn’t matter probably aren’t aware that for women when sex is bad, it is BAD. When sex is always just okay and never good that means she most likely is always left feeling unsatisfied. That’s not good.
I’m not even saying it’s men’s fault entirely because a lot of women don’t know their bodies or they just lay there and expect him to just get her there. They don’t speak up or communicate or show him what she likes but somehow expect him to read her mind. What I am saying is that people (even women) underestimate how important good sex for both parties is for the relationship. Telling a woman to settle for mediocre sex is what leads to those dead bedrooms, affairs, etc. and since men are more likely to complain once that happens, it actually ends up being a disservice for them to push that advice anyway. They should want to have good sex with their partner, to keep the sex life alive.
