Maybe you should watch the video.I grew up in Miami and a lot of the Dominicans do not like to call themselves black because of the negative stereotypes associated with being black. A lot of them act as if they are above Haitians. A lot of them like saying they are not black, but will be more than happy to claim their non black heritage. You also have to understand that their history is white washed and they more praise to their European history.
There's a difference between identifying as black (the color) and black (African American).
And since you grew up in Miami, maybe you'd like to talk about how racist white Cubans are to black Cubans.
