This is well put. I'm a big fan of Kanye West, but yeah, since 808s or even Graduation, his stuff hasn't really been hip hop, even though he's rapping. So nobody should be shocked when a hip hop head say they don't listen to Kanye West anymore.
But me I'm pretty sick of hip hop at the moment though, so shyt like MBDTF and Yeezus is the type of music I need.

MBDTF is the most overrated album in hip hop history. Five years have passed and I still have no idea why it's praised as much as it is. I liked instrumental on opening track but then it went all techno and shyt with long unnecessary interludes, poorly done hooks, moaning all over the tracks, overproduced beats overall and generally poor mixing. And Nicki had the best verse on entire album while Jigga was counting monsters and shyt.
From my experience only people who got into hip hop in last 1-2 years think of this album as some kind of masterpiece, real heads would never put it anywhere close top 50 even.

Overproduced and pretentious to the utmost. I could never get with Kanye on the mic but he was the most honest lyrically earlier on which made me give him a pass. The monster that was created from the honest albums is what I genuinely can't stand. Now the honesty is replaced with brashness and entitlement and an ego out of this world. He's a whiny douche that was barely tolerable on the mic before and now that its known he has people writing his shyt he's a farce. I'm saying for better or worse the biggest new school mainstream rappers were all birthed from Ye in some way. I'd rather have that than a bunch of 50 Cent clones running Hip-Hop, which is the direction we were headed in.
