I Got Two Questions For Christians Here. How Old Is Earth & How Can The Bible Be The Word Of God?

I've spent the last few weeks following the modern research on Bible origins. I'm a non believer but I find the whole story fascinating. Modern Judaism and Christianity are both children of the same event. Outside of the Jesus role, the main difference btwn the two religions is that Christianity has allowed itself and dogma to constantly change...culture to culture, time period to time period, even language to language..its both Christianity's strength and weakness...

...Judaism, not so much because they've kept their language, culture and are weary of outsiders.

Imma about to dive deep into Islam. From what little I know though...Islam's view of Jesus and prophets is alot more constant with Early Christianity's view of Jesus. Islam is also like an over correction of Christianity...back into pre-Second Temple Judaism. Before Christians mythocized Jesus.

that all sounds well and good, but radiometric dating is built on a shaky assumption of where radioactive species come from as I said before

that assumption is "fusion" "within stars" which has not been replicated in a laboratory and is assumed to be the insides of celestial bodies. No one has tested those yet it is accepted as fact and taught in schools. Many would be out of a job if those theories were truly scrutinized.

I have a degree in chemical engineering and as a professional, I have run design of experiments more than most typical engineers as my focus was Quality and Manufacturing. I know how to design them, control them, and interpret them very well. As I said before radiation is a poorly understood field that has very little funding these days compared to other areas of science. Most of the work done in radiation was done in the 20s-60s and has largely died down in state funding globally let alone here in the US.

My reasons to doubt dating standards used above 100s of years (Which is comparison of half life curves in labs):

• Many of these samples when tested on different dating methods are not even close to an agreement
• There are other ways material can be turned into radioactive species (electric discharge, cataclysmic collisions, celestial collisions IE meteor strikes, etc OTHER than fusion)
• Many of the assumed dates of materials are referenced from studies done in the 1800s before radioactive dating even existed.
• Very few long natural half-lifed materials have been replicated in labs only synthetic ones.

there are many videos on youtube where you can test each of my points and find a few answers. You can stand by your beliefs as they don't bother me, but to assume it's a settled debate is foolish.

You got it wrong buddy. 6000 years comes from when Adam first appeared which is the beginning of time, not the age of the earth. The earth is roughly 15 billion years old and both science and the Bible proves that.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16

The Bible doesn’t say how old The Earth is, but it does say roughly how old Humanity is.
Prior to Humanity, Earth had longer periods, or “days”


Question 2: How can I say The Bible is The Word of God?
It is God’s message transmitted by a channel - namely, humans.
When you send a text message, who is that message from?
It is your message - even though it was delivered by AT&T/Verizon/T-Mobile and displayed on a phone,

I neither believe nor disbelieve either of those things. Both are man made claims and man is fallible. I talk directly to God himself. And im certain we all have that ability. Most of us just dont know it nor know how to listen/perceive it.

Its not the word of god but it is one of the greatest achievements of current civilization that we kept these stories around in some form, hell some of the stories probably predate christianity by a long time like The Great Flood

There is nothing in the Bible that requires people to believe the Earth is 6000 years old.
If your faith is shaken by the world being 4.5 billion years old or the universe being 14 billion years old, you might need to re-evaluate what you actually believe, and why it is necessary to your worldview.

My faith is nowhere even close to shaken but one thing that is a problem is plants were made on the third day but the sun and moon were made on day four. I don't believe plants can go millions of years with no light because of photosynthesis and all....

Also, I'll be honest. I watched part of the video but not all. I dont understand how he has a problem with Noah and his kids. The canopy theory would explain how the world pre flood had an ice sphere above the planet. Oxygen was increased on the Earth and people lived to long ages. The flood was both rain from above and water from beneath (could not be 100% from above due to rules of physics).
