I feel like Q-Tip should be mentioned in the same breath as Premo and Pete Rock

Large is more positive. Havs flow is way better, and I also like his voice. His addiction is none of my business.

Large Pro is so based, so pure. Hav's flow is mousey and gets overpowered by music. Large is a commanding vocal presence. Large is one of my fav rappers ever. Nas kilt Stay Chisled, but Large's verse gives me chills.

it beez like dat sometime.

Hav's flow single handedly saved the last 12 years of Mobb Deep material from being trash. But whatever floats your boat.:manny:

Q-Tip is in my top 5 for hip hop producers. I love the Tribe albums and his solo work.

cut it out.

Proletariat P is doin' the damn thang.

P ain't been the same in a minute. He's been lack luster. Very meh on the scale. He has flashes every now and then. But it's nice that you're such a fan.

Top 10 for me. Felt the beats he did by himself on The Infamous was lacking..

The main reason is because he isn't credited as the producer of Tribe's albums when he really was. He said in the ATCQ documentary that he produced all 3 albums but said it wasn't about him, it was about the group. Up until I saw the doc I always thought Ali Shaheed Muhammad made the beats and Q-Tip threw in his 2 cents every now and then. So, yes, that's the main reason why he isn't seen in the upper echelons of hiphop producers.

I heard this on the documentary as well. I always thought ali was the driving force sonically for the first 3 ATCQ albums. Since it never was specified within the ATCQ album notes. I mean I figured that was his purpose since he ain't rap, so it made sense to me. but once I heard q-tip's stuff when he went solo and stuff outside of ATCQ, it was obvious, he was an elite producer in his own right.
