Several of those were actually written for Anita. Toni was basically styled to be Anita Baker-lite

I'm not going to respond to the damn near 50 back and forths between you and dude but your argument on whom had the better career is kinda based on who you ask. The average black person whom was an adult during that era would DEFINITELY say that Anita had the better career. POP fan would probably say Mariah or Toni. End of the day Anita made better music than both of them. Toni was only popping because Babyface was the most popular producer of that time. Anita went through 3 stages of producers and had major R&B hits with all of them. HER talents transcended the production.

It's hard to have Anita at number 1. I love Anita but she doesn't have the crossover appeal of Whitney. Nor can she do uptempo tracks like Whitney. (I'm every woman, How will I know, I'm your baby tonight). It's really hard for me to rank Anita. I mean obviously Whitney, Mariah and Sade are the holy trinity. To me, after that, it's about personal taste. Anita, Regina Belle, Stephane Mills, Phyllis Hyman, etc.

As I stated Toni Braxton was a product of Babyface's PRODUCTION. He won producer of the year for 3 YEARS STRAIGHT. On top of the fact Babyface has said HIMSELF that he styled her after Anita. Anita's career spanned from about 85-2004 while Toni's was 1993-2001 and AGAIN Anita made hits with 3 totally different Main production camps. Toni hits stopped after Babyface stopped overseeing her projects. These are FACTS breh. Toni might have had a bigger PEAK, which AGAIN was at the height of Babyface's run, but Anita damn sure had a better career. Did Anita make your dad leave you fatherless or some shyt breh???
