I love anita baker's music, but her career was too brief to be listed with the all time greats IMO
But she has about the same output as Whitney Houston as far as albums are concerned and years in the game.

she's mainly known for two albums, she was the shyt in the late 80's during that quiet storm era - but like so many of those artists (peabo, luther, freddie jackson), they just didn't transition well into the 90's

Nah Whitney is the GOAT female vocalist but Anita ain't no slouch. I think Anita sorta got pushed aside for Toni Braxton. Toni was the Arianna to her Mariah and the Natalie to her Aretha.
