My mom lived here in the early 90s, so I been coming here since I was little. I got down here in 99 and graduated in 01. So I’m familiar.

The thing is to me, the projects kind of kept the bullshyt around there. You knew not to fukk around in East Lake Meadows or Capital Homes, now the fukkery has moved out to the suburbs of Dekalb and Clayton

Yeah same thing happened to other cities like Chicago when they tore the projects down and people had to find new homes on blocks. It broke down whatever structure that was left. Gang banging really taking over the metro area is a big problem too. I bet there's 2-4 times as many gang members in the area now.

That's common sense tho. Everyone knows Black men kill each other more than anyone else. That's why we are the only ones who can fix it. That doesn't take away from some dudes also killing Black women, just not in high numbers since most women aren't in the streets.

Gangs didn’t get big in Atlanta till maybe the mid 2000s or early 2010s. It’s always been a crip or GD set here or there, but nothing like it is today. That’s why I mentioned kids here wanna be like Chicago so bad..gangs and taunting the dead/recording everything.

Something ain’t adding up for me. They say he was an innocent bystander but something tells me a 12 year old wasn’t out there unsupervised in the middle of this gang activity randomly.

Sounds like what they are saying is he was with them but he wasn’t one of the people who pulled a gun.

I’m glad security did their job and kicked these folks off Atlantic Station premises before they started shooting.


Also something isn’t sitting right with the way the article is written. If the mom was speaking the cited quotes why are they misspelling words? Hole and whole…….that was done on purpose.
