Jojo's and One Piece kill both of these shows, really.

Naruto was classic in the beginning but fell off hard after Shippuden.
DBZ didn't really go downhill until Buu, IMO. And Piccolo > Vegeta

If Naruto maintained the same form from part 1 all throughout it's 700 chapter run it would've easily been the GOAT manga. No contest, it was epic, smart in portraying it's battles and emotional, for the most part, in a way other mangas haven't been able to do. That's why sometimes I find myself cursing Kishimoto because that fool turned a potential contemporary classic into hot garbage real quick.

At least there's Toriko.
