Not necessarily a linear comparison since a). California is a smaller scale compared to China and b). people in California aren't, historically, as nationalistic and prideful about their territory as people in China (reference things like the cultural revolution). Western media has influence all over the world, no disputing that; from the Black people I know who've studied abroad or temporarily worked there, their belief is that the Chinese people there are ignorant about Blacks because of what they've seen through the media, so I'm with you on that. But, I think you're over-estimating the impact that Western media has in China.

Also citation for the bolded.
most def. now had he said Japan, I would have to agree but china? this probably the least westernized place Ive ever been in my life, its one of the things that draws foreigners here, that its like another planet, and completely ran without too much western influence. They didnt even start using pinyin for street signs (excluding shanghai, beijing and hk) until 2008. Chinese are prideful people, what they dont realize is that its the chinese that say "do you know how many things you use in america are actually chinese invention/culture?" everything from paper money to guns we oh so love. this doesnt even include the fact that everything in your house is chinese made, and you would be surprised how many companies in america are actually chinese owned...like AMC. American media is just really good at hiding the fact that some of our very ports are chinese owned.....

Alot of people have no idea, for example, that 7/11 is actually Japanese owned. :heh:this isnt something youre going to hear on your 10 clock news. MMA is an asian invention, heck even bathing every day is. tea, pasta, the list goes on and on.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not so much a believer in the all knowing, all seeing cac, but it's not that hard to see when someone's trying to pull propaganda on any group. Cacs are especially skilled at this deception.

Those numbers are hard to find, since the government likes to just group foreigners together. To be fair, many Chinese do see people as either a foreigner or Chinese.

This depends on what city you live in. Which city are you in now?

I'm not arguing that the Chinese don't own their own things. I'm not saying that the Chinese are under the control of western cacs. I said influence is very much there, and many of the foreigners that have ran to China bring a very derogatory view of blacks with them from the US--Until it's time to misappropriate black culture for sale of goods to the Chinese youth.

According to credible sources (CIA WorldFact book for example), China's foreign population is negligibly small. Given the nationalistic and prideful nature of the Chinese people, I still think you're over-estimating the impact of Western media in China. I don't think you're aware of how censored the media in China is. I mean they can't even watch the unedited versions of shows like Game of Thrones without resorting to circumvention methods :mindblown:. You're ignoring the fact that the Chinese themselves are also masters of propaganda and media control, and I would argue that they're even better at it than the American media.

so give me an example of inadvertent white supremacy a black man would endure in china....

sorry breh but Ive been to every single city you listed. @Joey Chizzle is chinese and lives in hong kong, and I can assure you, other than maybe hong kong western media does NOT shape the minds of the chinese people. this is absolutely false and western thinking. its more of YOU being influenced so much you're not even listening to people who live in china other than the ones filtered by the very media we're talking about.

I seriously can't help you break your mind set, its up to you to just come here and ask the people for yourself like I did. No one else can break you from those mental chains but yourself breh.

and foreigners dont come here to change anything chinese, we come here to make money. nothing more nothing less. cmon now man. :heh:
and the whole country does not know english, some may study english but thats because its the international language, has nothing to do with the white race, the white race speaks many languages, has more to do with the british empire (which initiated globalization) and is successor (america) having being spread globally more than any other language. american movies are popular because they are made good, no one pumps out more quality movies with as much money as hollywood, say brazil had movies like Batman, Alien, Terminator, Im sure they would be the most watch, no one has as many distributors and film making abilities as hollywood. but make no mistake, my gf is sitting right next to me, and shes not watching an american movie, shes watching a chinese one. she watches more chinese than american, but she will take time to watch 'avengers' because its a block buster hit. this has nothing do with race and everythin to do with hollywood being a power house in media. :heh:

Hong Kong is chill, but let's not pretend that blacks all over chung king mansion are living it up and that there isn't tension between cacs and blacks out there. Don't tell me foreigners aren't talking shyte and competitively undermining each other. If you turn Hong Kongers against blacks in Hong Kong by spreading propaganda that all those group of people (for example) are thieves and drug dealers, it's going to become the norm thinking. Let's be real, your girl is asian, that's cool, you are invested, but you can separate the two and still see the game for what it is. Many mainland Chinese people that I've talked to in the cities that I've mentioned usually have ignorant views about blacks (having never been exposed to blacks) or overtly negative views about blacks (having not known any black people). Yes, you have many who love black people, but let's not pretend that it's all rainbows and gold out there for black people.

For example, knew this girl out there that I messed with and 1 day we started about traveling and I suggested a majority black country in the Caribbean and she goes ":sadcam: I don't know, I'm afriad of black people" and I'm like, :what: "You spend 5 hours a day with me, how can you be afraid of black people" and she says, "I know you. you are the only black person I've ever known, so I feel confident and happy around you, but I don't know other black people, and I've always been taught to be afraid." She was being sincere and honest like:to:, and in my mind I'm thinking, "I'd :birdman:really like to hit her with a rock right now" .

If you talk with people and probe a little bit, you will find that many have been clumsily taught to be worried about black people. 1 girl told me that her college professor taught their class that if they visit a poor black neighborhood in america, they should make sure they carry at least $50 with them incase they get mugged, because the mugger will be angry and might kill them if they don't have at least $50 to give to him.

Ofcourse it's small, 40% of the world population is either Chinese or Indian. Ofcourse Chinese are nationalistic. I'm not overestimating propaganda. Yes, twitter, FB, Instagram, and most western news sites (including Yahoo news--very happy about that 1) are now blocked. I'm saying that foreigners are bringing and spreading a derogatory view of blacks in China.

Listen to @Tommy Knocks brehs. Western media does affect us, but not in such a way that we're trying to copy and paste western life onto our on lives. Yeah alot of people listen to some of the music (shytty cacs like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, etc:scusthov:), eat shytty American/British junk food (which is tasty but in a very hollow way), drink French wine, German beer, Italian pasta, etc etc, and watch some shows, and incorporate some other facets of western culture that we like. But we don't let it influence us to the point of wanting to belong or to emulate.

Come to Hong Kong or China and spend some time here, not just in one area, but in several, and @HopeKillCure, you will retract your statement. No beef, just sayin that @Tommy Knocks is right - we're prideful as fukk :wow:

What are you envisioning here? A sect of White people whose sole purpose is to go around mainland China and give pamphlets, about Black people, to hundreds of millions of Chinese people who probably don't give two damns about Black people?

This is very true. Many Asians don't know shyt about black people. I was fortunate to grow up in schools amongst people of all types, and most of my friends were black when I studied in England (before anyone says, 'oh look another Chinese student studying overseas', I have a British passport. Had it since birth. Perks of being a select group of Hong Kongers :myman:), many mainland Chinese people I've dealt/interacted with have barely even seen black people, let alone interacted with them. And yes, the perceptions are often bad. It's often due to ignorance and the screening of forms of media. Like when I was studying abroad, I met a few mainland Chinese chicks and they were terrified of black people. One time me and my Chinese ex was watching netflix chillin, got a call from some of my black brehs about them picking up an oz of bud and coming over to chill. I'm like aight cool let yourselves in. 20 minutes later they turn up, 8 black dudes. She screamed like she was about to die and fukking tried to crawl underneath me. UNDERNEATH. So embarrassing explaining why she was shook.:snoop:

With the rising number of students going abroad and soaking in foreign cultures though, this is bound to improve. And that means more mixed race lightskin bishes for me to smash when I'm in my 40s and 50s :pachaha:

Good that a Hong Kong brother is verifying this. Especially a breh who has and can move between both worlds easily. We are not just making this shyte up.

sorry breh but its so miniscule its literally a drop in the lake. literally. most chinese folks havent even spoken to a westerner because westerners in china dont speak chinese. you might get some rich snobby kids that heard from their friends that went abroad or studied abroad but seriously? thats like the 1%, its almost like sayin us folks who have actually been to china can shape the way the american people view china as a nonthreat military. damn near impossible.

most of the ignorance comes from THEIR OWN media (which hardly covers intl news for obv reasons). but if it does, its usually about africa being poor and war torn...which it is.

but when you ask about actual AAs? most will say 'I dont know" or "they sing good" or "basketball".

here's a conversation I just had with my gf (btw, im the only black american she has ever met or even spoken too)

Me: Hey Im having a discussion online, I want to ask you something

Her: Yes?

Me: do you know what stereotype means? (proceeds to google the chinese translation)

Her: ting bu dong (chinese for I dont understand)

Me: *enters preconception, gets chinese translation*

Her: Ah yes, what about it?

Me: I'm going to give a country, and I want you to give me a one word preconception common among your average chinese

Her: Ok.

Me: Congo

Her: Poor

Me: Rwanda

Her: War

Me: France

Her: Romantic

Me: America

Her: Arrogant

Me: All Americans?

Her: Yes

Me: Hmmm ok, Black Americans

Her: Cool

Me: wtf?

Her: Yea! like Rappers!

Me: :what:

She literally has nothing. nothing at all, when I told her american, she said arrogant, when I specified by skin color, she literally could only think of what she may have saw on tv. :dead:

The chinese are more about nationality than they are race. race is a bit of a hard concept for them to swallow because its 99% hans. For example when I ask her what race are mexicans....she draws a blank as if she never thought of it, then says red people? then I bring to her attention they speak spanish, so then she looks at me with a blank and says spanish people? she literally has no idea what a mestizo is, when I say we call them brown, she says "no you're brown, theyre a little bit more white". :dead:
when I ask her if she knows about the colonization and mixing of the natives, she says yes, so I ask her again, what are they? she responds "a little brown". :mjlolz:
