What are you making?
proteins: lemongrass ginger snapper, sauteed ground turkey, a couple grilled chicken breasts
veggies: cabbage, broccoli, chopped up some salad, kale slaw
carbs: baked sweet potato, quinoa
boiled a few eggs for snacks, made 4 jars of overnight oats with yogurt and applesauce
bagging up snacks like nuts, cheese, crackers, etc.

I never wash rice

I would use 1 and 3/4 for 1 cup of rice

I add salt and oil to the water

if I am making it quickly I cook lid off till the water is even with the rice, then lid on low heat for 20 minutes, then turn heat off stir rice then let sit for 5 minutes

If im adding anything to it I do so right before those 5 minutes


but usually I cook it longer then stir the rice every 15 minutes so I get the burnt rice at the bottom

It's a great way to get the excess starch off the rice...keeps it from lumping up when it cools also..
