Man, all my bay club memories are coming back - 330 Ritch, loft 11, mission bay, jillians, levende, air lounge, the original golden bear, easy lounge, lucky's, Willie mays skybox lounge, kitty's

Hyphy was pretty regional unfortunately…can’t complain about it being the worst “era” when it didn’t even spread nationally ….that laffy taffy Soulja Boy tell’em era was definitely worse than anything mentioned

maybe if you're talking nationally, but OP is a bay poster - there definitely was an hyphy era from like 04-07 out here. bay always had it's own scene goin tho

outside of some bay artist being featured on the cover of XXL or the Source and a few videos, the shyt never went anywhere and just fizzled

Crunk had a stranglehold on the game and Texas was starting to look like they was about to takeover the game from ATL, but something happened, Crunk just continued until Jeezy, T.I. and Gucci locked it down then Souljah Boy and that whole snap /ringtone era thano dusted everything and had any self respecting hip hop fan in their feelings, then there was the blog era with all of the alternative emo outside the box , fro-hawk and skinny jean nikkas rappin about spaceships and their emotions and shyt....

After a while hiphop coalesced until drill came along

Lil Jon and some of those crunk cats were collating with hyphy ...I thought it was fun lol

I remember my ex wouldn't dance to that that song TELL ME WHEN 2 GO. she tried to walk off the floor n I wouldn't let her. Grabbed that hoe by the waste like nah and had to forcefully dagger her into submission....half the club was laughing hysterically.... bytch prolly hates e40 to this day

On production alone Crunk was far better than Hyphy. Lil Jon/Youngbloodz “Damn” was better than the entire Hyphy genre. I will say though that I rather hear Hyphy than UK/NY Drill.
