@RammerJammer Why doesn’t the hurricane dissipate when it hits those islands. Does it need a certain amount of land to do so?

It does, especially if it spends a lot of time over the mountains in the Caribbean but it appears that it won’t spend a large amount of time over those islands so it will still be intact and ready to strengthen once it enters the gulf.

Marco looks to be primed to head towards Southeast LA while Laura is aimed at the border of TX and LA, Marco is moving quickly and should arrive as a strong TS or low end cat 1 while Laura with several more days could be a real wild card, wouldn't be surprised if she reached cat 3 unfortaunently
