Here in Eastern NC the storm came and went, read a few reports saying we we're lucky and we're in a pocket so we really got grazed by it. The aftermath gonna be brazy
Meteorology is a very difficult science, it’s hard to predict, it was looking as if it was going to come in as a strong Cat 3 or low end Cat 4 but there was some shear that got into the storm that was not forecasted, it caught me off guard and a lot of Mets too, so if I did make it seems very serious, I apologize but I was just going off of the data that was shown. That said 4 people did die, 4 too many and the threat isn’t over in terms of flooding but I’d rather a Hurricane bust badly in terms of wind intensity than it meet expectations but it could’ve been much worse, hope everyone on here is safe and continues to be safe.
It's not your fault. You all just relay the data. The anchors and field reporters translate that data into hype and disaster porn. That's the problem. An anchor was caught earlier faking the funk about wind gusts while two cacs strolled casually in the background.
I evacuated and probably got it worse.Here in Eastern NC the storm came and went, read a few reports saying we we're lucky and we're in a pocket so we really got grazed by it. The aftermath gonna be brazy
Just wind and rain where I’m at. Lost power this morning but nothing crazy. Not yet at least.Driving back home, near Rocky Mount now. The eye was predicted to come through here early on but is actually just going around us.
Prayers for those who weren't so lucky.
@Chubbs @ADK @The M.I.C. how yall doing?
Im watching the news and it seems to be pretty significant flooding and damages in certain areas. What does it take to impress you guys?
It's the same thing every year and y'all simple Southern folk always fall for it.Here in Eastern NC the storm came and went, read a few reports saying we we're lucky and we're in a pocket so we really got grazed by it. The aftermath gonna be brazy
Damn, it's like some of you can't possibly conceive that the wind speed is often not the most dangerous part of a hurricane. Some parts of NC are receiving 8 months of rain in 3 days because the storm isn't moving.
Lemon's always good for a smug comment.
And that Rita evacuation was horrible. More people died in the evacuation than would have from the storm because not only did it weaken it turned and went east and hit the Louisiana/Texas border. I rode out Ike after that which struck with 125 mph winds. It wasn't a pleasant experience but not the worst ever.
Said it last year, y'all need to quit falling for the govt hype. It's a fukking storm that's going to knock down trees, cause minor flooding and widespread power outages.
Instead of spending all your money RUNNING every year how about you get a fukking generator u stupid southern nikkas.
I come from the north, we had school during ice storms. Y'all southern nikkas get a storm & minor flooding and y'all evac the whole coastline.
The south is soft as fukk, nikkas can't handle the sun or the rain, no wonder yall got all the sissies
You acting like people up north don't lose their minds when the temp goes over 85°
