Meteorology is a very difficult science, it’s hard to predict, it was looking as if it was going to come in as a strong Cat 3 or low end Cat 4 but there was some shear that got into the storm that was not forecasted, it caught me off guard and a lot of Mets too, so if I did make it seems very serious, I apologize but I was just going off of the data that was shown. That said 4 people did die, 4 too many and the threat isn’t over in terms of flooding but I’d rather a Hurricane bust badly in terms of wind intensity than it meet expectations but it could’ve been much worse, hope everyone on here is safe and continues to be safe.

Breh there is nothing to apologize for, a lot of people don't understand the impact if they don't see everything destroyed when a hurricane passes through an area. And to be honest the wind speed is normally the least of the worries when it comes to hurricanes. News is going to sensationalize but the news also isn't going to report on every single detail either. Almost a million without power, 5 dead, and a lot of flooding that is going to go on until at least the end of the day. People are going to lose houses, cars etc...but a lot of these posters won't be impressed unless they see truly catastrophe

Catastrophe is subjective. yeah, your house is still standing and you may have only gotten a foot or two of water inside, but if you have to throw things away and dont have the money to replace it, or can't have your house fixed , on an individual basis, that can be very catastrophic.
