Nah I do believe they went extra hard with preps but you just never know these days. If they don’t go as hard and the hurricane straight wrecks shop then we are wondering why they didn’t warn us. It’s just hard to judge this stuff.

Exactly. Better safe than sorry. If they neglect a storm and a ton of people die due to not being informed, then it’s the media’s fault and that’s on their conscience for not doing enough. Does ratings play a part? Of course. No one can predict these things though. Sometimes these storms can come through and fukk shyt up way beyond what was predicted. Matthew did. Katrina definitely did. Sandy definitely fukked NJ up too. Be thankful Irma might not be as bad but I won’t knock them for doing their job. It’s hard and it’s thankless. That would be weigh on my mind constantly if I covered storms.

@Lord Scion yeah, this storm is a wash as far as Hampton Roads

Went out to get a cut and a 12 pack of Schweppes from Walmart and the roads are mostly dry as hell. It wasn't even flooded near the pier of the apartments on Llewellyn :gucci:

Yea, all the streets that always flood here were dry as shyt and I was like :beli:, my parents text me like "all this hype for this? really?"
And guess what, the Zone A evacuation order just got lifted :francis:. Everyone can go back to their homes which only the roof shingles got damp.

I'm happy this storm turned out to be a dud for us, and I'm not mad at the state for being overly cautious when this storm was a Cat 4... but you can't help but feel a type of way after the fact.

I wish I can say the same for NC right now though since they're getting the brunt of it. Once again, stay safe y'all.

Meteorology is a very difficult science, it’s hard to predict, it was looking as if it was going to come in as a strong Cat 3 or low end Cat 4 but there was some shear that got into the storm that was not forecasted, it caught me off guard and a lot of Mets too, so if I did make it seems very serious, I apologize but I was just going off of the data that was shown. That said 4 people did die, 4 too many and the threat isn’t over in terms of flooding but I’d rather a Hurricane bust badly in terms of wind intensity than it meet expectations but it could’ve been much worse, hope everyone on here is safe and continues to be safe.
