Yes, excellent episode. They needed to dedicate an episode like this to show how crazy it was for Divine to micro-manage the business, dealing with all the different labels and then the artists themselves.

But now I'm sad cause I'm sure the next episode is gonna be a stupid kung fu temple artsy episode for GZA's Liquid Swords, with dudes dressed up like samurais and shyt. Which will be another wasted episode like the Dirt McGirt one. The Raekwon Cuban Linx episode was tolerable but I still hate that they waste valuable episodes with these try-hard mini-abstract-movies. FOH.

I had legitimate anxiety watching this.. When his phone kept ringing.

You coming to the party?
Geffen on the phone.

:why:
why? you already knew Ghost and Cap got signed. You also know that Mariah did the remix with ODB. hahaha. You knew this before the episode aired. :russ:

The thing that's bothering me is that you have guys that are ready to be in the studio and put in work such as U god and Deck, but they still forced ODB to drop 2 albums before they could get ONE(they dropped their first albums immediately following ODB's 2nd). Dirty was more charismatic than the 2 of them, but I can see why U God and Deck could have been frustated.

Especially when you add in the family aspect of it all. Had to wonder if the clan was jealous of ODB getting the Mariah look and wondering f he was actually requested or if he was offered up due to being Rza’s family.

Long before this series, I just knew ODB was a problem to deal with. Just look at the reality show on MTV when he was released from prison. Rza and Dame Dash got in a screaming match over ODB's rights. Many thought Rza was being selfish, but deep down, I knew then, he was concerned over Dirty's well-being. There was an interview that Rza said dirty didn't want him to come to the studio unless he promised not to flush his drugs down the toilet. A year after being released from prison, he was dead under the guidance(or misguidance) of Rocafella that just let him do as he wanted. I get it that he was a grown man, but some people you just can't give the key to the kingdom to. Prison only extended his life a bit longer, but the self-destruction was inevitable.
