The debate over the divinity of Jesus has been going on since the time of his death and for him to explain that simply by saying whoever isn't on his side isn't talking about the same person is absolutely absurd.

No they don't what are you talking about they view jesus as jehovahs only begotten son sent to die for our sins . they dont believe in immortal souls or that every good person goes to heaven instead they will be resurrected and go in a paradise on earth .

Don't listen to @Brown_Pride I am ( was ) a Jehovah's Witness . I stopped going due to the hypocrisy I felt of the elders in my particular congregation after some family stuff happened . He doesn't know what he's talking about jw 100% believe Jesus is the son of god . They have the memorial coming up to remember Jesus resurrection and death and how he died for our sins .

Your just going to lie and say most of your family is jw ? You either never went yourself or don't pay attention . What is the big gathering they have on the summer called ? Or even the smallers ones held throughout the year ? What is the difference between the weekday meetings and the Sunday one? ( Saturday depending on how big your hall is )

I think i've ever been to 1 or 2 actual JW halls, yes about 80% of my fam is JW. So based on what i've read and what's been discussed with me i've gathered AN understanding, admittedly i'm no expert.

You can't bring your own interpretation in even if its a minor difference , you can't make changes or be skeptical in Jw only the governing body can .
I'll apologize for my criticism I took your answer for something else .the Jehovah witness religion has its good points I mean I always found the way the roman pagan holidays were adopted by christianity to be kind of silly , and alot of what they teach in general is helpful for building a personal relationship with god. And the policy of deciding to get baptized when older after you decide to dedicate yourself to god pretty logical .
The problem I had was if you sin your supposed to report yourself to the elders and if your baptized you wil be disfellowshipped and be pretty much ostracized from the community but yet I Know for a fact elders and other people were doing disfellowshippable acts yet they were not punished by not telling what they did or by minimizing their actions . It's a weird culture that is established kind of like why admit your sins fully because the cost will be pretty high

I went through something very similar when i was in college. I went to a bible college and got burned out on the hypocracy myself to the point where I said fuk it. I got tired of finding the "leadership" at the same house parties I would go to on the weekends doing all types of what not.

Ultimately though, I came to understand that no one is perfect and it helped to highlight the importance of a personal relationship with God. Do you still believe? or have you completely written off the idea of God/Church?
