For me, whenever I start eating habits and get on a routine, I find it's hard to break from it. This goes for either good habits or bad habits. If I eat slop for 2 or 3 straight days, it's REAL hard to stop. Same way with good habits. If I eat healthy for 2 or 3 days, it's a little harder to eat slop (but easier than going from slop to healthy).

It does take a little mental toughness.

You got to find your weakness and tackle it. Judging by your taste it appears to be salt more than anything else. For me it was the sugary drinks...coke every time. Sugar is extremely addicting once you have it on the regular basis, but once you cut it out your cravings go away. Salt is a different animal because you obviously don't want to eat bland food all the time, but once you start cutting that you bite into a lays chip months later all the salt really hits you...those chips are LOADED with salt. I would recommend getting some plain popcorn and LIGHTLY salt them if you want a fix...chances are you wont even need butter after a while to satisfy the craving.

Also I am not sure how you cook, but I have never been to big on cooking with oil. That's why whenever I used to go to KFC and see people order Original Recipe I was like...

Holiday season i usually let loose a little...too many cookies, cakes, etc around to not partake. I usually just up my cardio a little more around this time to compensate. Once Xmas passes it's back to normal.

Like someone mentioned before, this time of the year can be rough when trying to eat clean. One thing that works for me is to simply not keep junk in the house. My staple foods are brown rice, beans, fish, and vegetables/fruit. I actually read that it's easier to stick to eating clean if your meals are somewhat repetitive, that too much variety can actually tempt you to over eat. I have found this to be true for me personally. A huge thing that has helped me to is identifying my triggers/temptations and finding healthy substitutions. For example, popcorn instead of chips, or chocolate milk instead of a candy bar.

I agree with 99% of this post.

But have you seen how much sugar is in chocolate soy milk. It's normally between 15g - 30g 1/2 a cup...

I mess with vanilla soy milk which only has 7g...:aicmon:

I feel you. I was just talking in terms of calories, but you are absolutely correct in that sugar intake should also be taken into account when eating clean. I get super intense cravings during that time of the month, and those substitutions I suggested are what I utilize personally to curb them.
