This is only the second speech Biden has given on voting rights since being elected.

B-b-but he's 'trying.' :mjlol:

I thought you didn't want him giving speeches because it's pointless :what: now you're mad he didn't give more speeches :what:

If you're going to complain at least be consistent about what you want him to do :wtf:

No. You were the one saying that the speeches were 'trying.' Well, he's only given two of them, including today, so he's really 'trying' on this one, huh? :mjlol:

I said he wasn't doing shyt, and by your own logic you agree he isn't doing shyt, so what are you even arguing about? :mindblown:

My point is he literally CAN'T do shyt else. I'd like to be wrong about that, but every time I ask you what else he should be doing all I get is :yeshrug:

I don't see how "he's not doing shyt" is a logical complaint if you don't even know what you want him to do.

No. I said he shouldn't go down there unless he had some sort of deal in place with Manchin and Sinema. What I don't know is the specifics of how he gets that at this point. Manchin specifically has punked the shyt out of him at every turn. Any leverage he's had to get Manchin on board has gone out of the window months ago. He can get go down to the House and pressure progressives to cave on BIF, but he doesn't have the balls to do the same for Manchin and Sinema. He has zero plan to get this passed, and it's his own weakness that has caused this. So what I don't know is how he comes back from this.

There's a reason voting rights allies skipped the speech and Stacey Abrams didn't even show up. Everybody knows he has no plan, and that bullshyt speech didn't impress anybody. So you saying he 'can't' do anything else is nonsense; what he can do is not waste everybody's time when he's failing to pass the bill.

You're acting like if he tries hard enough he can somehow make Manchin and Sinema vote for it. But even you admitted he has no leverage.

We've seen how they operate, if they don't want to vote for it then they just won't regardless of what Biden says or offers. We already had a year of Biden kissing their asses in an attempt to pass BBB only for them to tank it anyway, the last thing we need is for Biden to spend months begging them to pass voting reform again only for them to do the same thing.

The only thing he can really do is try to drum up enough public pressure to get them to fold. Will it work? Probably not, but that's about the extent on what he can do.

Point being, you're blaming Biden when you should be blaming the Senate (Manchin and Sinema).

I don't disagree with the bolded. My point is 'public pressure' is just wasting time for PR. Multiple voting rights advocates begged Biden to stay in Washington to try to get a bill passed instead of coming to Georgia, but he did it anyway, which is part of the reason they skipped his speech. This was purely a waste of time for optics, and your own post seems to agree with that point.

This is @the cac mamba levels of bad faith here. Are you saying that the voting rights groups in the south that got Biden elected secretly wanted him to act like Bernie?
The bad faith is your appeal to authority. Your entire argument is he shouldn't do it because a voting rights group in GA didn't show up to his speech.

You've been asked numerous times what he should do and why it's bad for a president to go out and stump for something he campaigned on that is important to voters.

You've yet to give an answer. The point is you look like a God damn fool whining that Biden is attempting to ramp up pressure on his caucus to remove the filibuster for voting rights. :mjpls:
