Let's wait and see what happens first with the VRA, police reform, infrastructure and foreign policy before anointing him. It's a great start though
he already took out the most dangerous incumbent ever, too. before he even stepped foot in the office

needs a few more bills to be sure :hubie: not arguing that. but biden could be remembered VERY fondly by modern history

The parliamentarian cut the minimum wage increase out the Democrats. Bernie's $15 amendment was just a symbolic resolution (it also needed 60 votes to pass which it wasn't getting even if every Democrat voted in favor).

Also, Dem leaders have pledged to continue to fight for a $15 dollar minimum wage in other ways. Let's hope they follow through.

The GOP fired the parliamentarian back in 2001 when Dove made things harder for them to push proposals out of the senate.

Dems need to grow some balls.

:unimpressed:

Is Mitch going to retire?
I dont think he will complete his term. He's trying to pass some law that would deny the democrat governor from choosing his replacement,
and instead get chose by the republican party.

Do we know why c00ns voted no on the minimum wage? So bizarre considering he's Biden's closest ally in the Senate.

The amendment was going to fail anyway because it didn't have 60 votes, plus Manchin and Sinema were already against it, but the other six Dems voting no was just bad politics.
Manchin opposes $15 min wage. Some of the other Senate Dems have claimed they opposed the amendment on procedural grounds (you can't pass it through reconciliation).

What's bad politics is bringing up an amendment that you know will fail...
