He needs to do the eo on student loans. That is already written and just needs a signature. He should also legalize cannabis, and release the non violent prisoners. That would be a quick and easy win for the progressive part of the base and can buy them a little time. Could even use it to help the country's struggling farmers.
Can Biden actually legalize cannabis with an EO? I thought that was something Congress would have to do.
But I agree, if that's something he can do then he absolutely should and make Republicans take the political hit if they try to overturn it.

From what I understand he can take it off the schedule one list which means it's no longer illegal. He can also pardon prisoners and doesn't need Congress for that, but the next President could simply reverse it. Congress would have to do the heavy lifting

You can't deny though that he spent of lot of his campaign talking about how he could get Republicans to work with him.

I think if that joint gets dropped to schedule five, as it should, there will be a light grumble but then that's it. The candidate that is arguing against marijuana legalization would be seen as fringe, imo.
