AOC saying dems need to stand up to racial injustice is attacking the home team? The problem with the dems is they want the progressive votes but they don't even intend of giving them the policies they want. It's always shut up and fall in line we can't let the republicans win but when push comes to shove they'd rather implement republican policies and see them win than progressive policies. Progressive policies usually poll well but politicians even dems will fall on their swords to keep them from happening.
The problem is progressives spend half a decade saying we shouldn't focus on social issues and just push an economic message.
How is this any different than moderates saying the same thing but have different economic interest?
And for the record, I agree that her position is correct, but it doesn't come off as genuine all things considered.

She and the Dems won’t be crushing a GOP insurgency. Joe is at 38% approval rate. That’s not on Dems believe it or not. That’s on the American people. They don’t want functioning government. They want bullshyt Trump bravado. They want to lash out. White backlash. Covid backlash. The American people love the dysfunctional culture of hating government.
This much is clear: no matter the candidate, and outside another natural disaster like Covid, Republicans are getting the Presidency in 2024. America is too entrenched in crony capitalism, lobbying, and hate for government.
So, let AOC tell the truth. What, is the fake outrage at progressives going to move the needle considering Americans already think AOC controls half the government already and that she’s a communist?

Trying to ignore/downplay racism to appeal to white voters seems unhelpful, Republicans are going to portray them a certain way regardless. Unless you're going to out-racist Republicans it seems like a bad strategy.

I’m from Brooklyn a place where stars are born.
100% White folks are seeing a decline in their overall economic outcomes. This is why. they are getting angry. They see their birthrates declining and death rates exploding. They have not connect the dots that th reason that their economic well being is tied to Nixon/Reagonomics. As crony capitalism gotten worse the more the country overall is declining. Instead they use racism and hate to take their anger on "urban dwellers." The white suburban upper middle class love the status quo but once they see their economic standing decline they will go move further to the right on racism and fascism. The US is currently, and has been for a while in my opinion, a nation teetering on the brink of massive decline and a shift from democratic values to pure authoritarianism. The current Republican party has huge, undeniable authoritarian tendencies that are only going to get worse as conditions in the nation deteriorate due to racial issues, wealth inequality and climate change.
Democracy only works when both parties are at least working in good faith. Republicans are no longer operating and good faith, and as such, have completely derailed the operation of government. There are very few courses of action that the Democrats could realistically take right now to avoid fascism. The Republicans will have to choose to do that, they have the systemic advantages built into all three branches, they have the support of the capitalist class, and because the capitalist class also controls the media, they can control the narrative.
In short, Democrats have an incredibly uphill battle and progressives have even more of an uphill.
