I would not vote for the stand-alone bill unless there are public assurances from the milquetoast crowd that they will support the reconciliation package w/ the progressive initiatives included. Watching AOC, this morning I can see why you are disappointed. She did not spell this out firmly in her appearance on MTP.

They’ve not offered any counter and allowed that idiot Manchin control policy when progressives can unify to wield power in the house. Well, they won't have more leverage than they'll have over the next two months. This bill seems to be Biden's crown jewel since it incorporates the two things he genuinely cares about - bipartisanship and infrastructure. They have to be willing to sink it if they don't get at least 60-70% of what they want in the reconciliation package - taxes, child care, green energy, etc. I better hear about the pos Manchin negotiating with Bernie over the next several weeks, b/c this is the last time anything of consequence will happen until the 2023 budget resolution next year. I expect a smaller package then since it will be election season, when Dems will be scared of their own shadow, so it's now or never.

Biden literally just tanked his own infrastructure deal playing bad politics, and the 'progressives' in congress have not done a single thing with the leverage they have by Dems having the narrowest majority in the House in half a century. Like I said before, all they do is talk shyt and get punked by Pelosi when it's time to vote, unless it involves something like giving a pay raise to the Capitol officers who saved their lives on 1/6.

They pretty much only exist to give sound bites to the GOP about how crazy the 'far left' is.

progressives need to find a way to get the voters to actually vote for them then. you can only go so far with the tweets from random blue checks talking about how much the electorate loves all these programs yet still doesnt want to actually vote for the people touting them
