Rob Portman (Republican send from Ohio) saying he always assumed democrats would do reconciliation after a bipartisan deal so he’s fine with it. Really torpedos the messaging McConnell is trying to push.

Reconciliation has nothing to do with republicans. If they drop out this deal who cares. Just means Biden gets (nearly) everything he wants, vs some of what he wants.

-Progressives can do no wrong.
-Progressive My way or the highway politics is clearly smart politics for Dems that will help them in the midterms.
-This country is clearly as progressive as Warren, Bernie or the squad.

Yes, because poor corporate centrist dems. They never get a seat at the table with the president.... Hold up

Aren't these your guys? The same ones that compromised on top of another compromise shyt bill?

Makes you wonder why there's no enthusiasm from the left to show up in midterms. Yes, but of course blame the far left :snooze:

Centrist dems are about to follow up a popular Covid relief bill with a popular infrastructure bill.

You do realize that popular covid bill is not the same that Biden signed? It's the same with this infrastructure bill. What's being proposed is a watered down bill.

Weak watered down covid bill, and now this weak awful infrastructure bill. Bipartisanship tho.:dead:

Progressives are the reason Dems lost seats in the House when they were favored to win. Progressives have been losing to more moderate candidates in current big primaries.

Anything progressives try to do in order to show force of power will just backfire on them and hurt the Dems as a whole.

The country is not progressive. Its center right or center left depending on the times. Manchin is more representative of that then progressives. While I disagree with some of his stances, if you go toward more or a Manchin compromise then you reach broader consensus across the country. If you just go progressives only then you alienate alot of people. Sure, you may get your progressives wish list but will it work in the midterms? Probably not because GOP are better at messaging and demonizing. Plus voters are gullible and stupid.

Ideally you'd want to be somewhere in the middle between Manchin and progressives.
Lol so what's gonna win Dems seats? Most shyt Progressives back are supported heavily by polling. PEOPLE want $15 min wage, Dems can't deliver...PEOPLE want Student loan debt relief., Dems can't deliver.......PEOPLE want infrastructure plan funded by taxes on corporations Dems can't deliver.

You want to know why they'll lose in 2022? Because they can't deliver.

I get being a reluctant moderate because of the realities on ground. But actually proud of being milquetoast? :hhh:

They don't believe they are ideological. They think they are being objective. This is what happens when you invent the academic discipline of Political Science for the purpose of disenfranchising philosophies based on the material conditions of the working class. They're bad and bougie, in the negative sense.
