Right to work laws are pretty much a poison pill for unions. As republicans don’t want workers having unions it’s obvious why they favor them. Right to work is like voter ID. It’s one of those things that almost sounds logical on a surface level but further analysis reveals it exist to accomplish a sinister goal.
and the flipside is that right to work states arent being bankrupted by public unions like CT, NJ, NY, IL, CA, etc

but this isnt really about that :dahell: theres arguments both ways. but it shouldnt be in the bill

What part of "They won't vote for it regardless" is so hard to understand? :mindblown:

It doesn't matter what anybody on FOX or CNN says, they're not voting for a Democratic bill.

So options for Dems are -

1. Wait until October and pass the bill through reconciliation (same as the stimulus)
2. End the filibuster and pass it (unlikely unless they can get Manchin onboard)
3. Fail to pass an infrastructure bill.

That's it :yeshrug: no great options but that's the reality of the situation

The amount of the bill literally makes no difference, that's just an excuse, it could be 500 million and Mitch still is going to tell Republicans not to vote for it.
no, this post is bullshyt. the democrats could write a straightforward trillion dollar bill that the republicans would have no excuse not to vote for, but they wont do that. theyre gonna stuff it with pork and left wing ideology

which is completely fine, but get outta here with this "republicans wouldnt spend a dime". that isnt true :mjlol:

No, you didn't ask that. You said dems need to settle at 1 trillion because that's what Republicans will support.

The reality is they can run another bill through reconciliation in October without Republican support and continue to push the correct narrative that Republicans have no interest in passing legislation that helps the American people.

Or they can tell Manchin to support abolishing the filibuster if he's interested in passing the infrastructure package he's been talking up to his constituents after Republicans fail to fall in line.

I enjoy that you attempted to move the goalposts so quickly or that a limp dikk falc00ns fan dapped it, but this is just another cac mambism that I won't be wasting my time going back and forth over since that's the only reason you actually post.

:umad:
they dont have the votes to do this through reconciliation, fool. angus king and manchin are on the record saying they arent gonna do that. this is not happening via reconciliation

so uninformed :mjlol:its one thing to talk shyt, but don't be dead wrong about it

fine :yeshrug: so how does more pass? 3 trillion? im just asking for an answer to that, but the substance is real lacking
How does it pass, reconciliation? Idk, bribe Manchin. But like @FAH1223 said, Manchin is already on the record that he's willing to do a 4T plan on infrastructure alone. That's also how much the unions are requesting. The American Society of Civil Engineers’ Report Card currently has us at a D+. Build/repair what we need to get to at least a B-. My guess is that's in the 4-5T range (this is excluding the "care" aspects to this bill).

manchin and angus king are on record saying they wont do it via reconciliation. the votes dont exist

now maybe that will change :yeshrug: but as of now, "just do it via reconciliation" is not a real thing. dudes acting like it is are fulla shyt

and just for the record; im FINE with them doing it via reconciliation :dead: im not against any of this. but any attempt to actually, objectively look at the facts on the ground instead of blind hero democrat worship is seen as some kind of opposition :laff:

This is BS, they literally don't want to pass an Infrastructure bill unless it's under a Republican president. Trump would likely attack anyone who voted for it.

Mitch is going to tell them not to vote for it regardless. They would just make up some new excuse. Dems would be fools to gut their own bill only for it to fail anyway.

They are just posturing to give Republicans a chance to come to the table over the next few months. Ultimately, they will have to do it through reconciliation because Republicans in DC know they only have to do three things to satisfy their base:

1. Liberal tears

2. Supreme Court

3. Liberal tears

Working on bipartisan issues to build a coalition of support in a reasonable manner blows up their entire objective.
