Which will have no chance of passing, and everyone will know it has no chance of passing because they'll never get 60 votes and Manchin is already against it, as well as removing the filibuster. Yeah, that'll work. :comeon:
then thats what the country wants :yeshrug: and those who know better, can increase it in states and cities

i support the 15, but fukking up the "emergency" covid relief bill over a 5 year minimum wage increase is asinine

I honestly don't believe that most Republican voters support M4A. There's no way that's true.
Of course it’s true. They’re all on Obamacare in Kentucky but hate Obama.
It depends what you call it. Affordable care act is going to get a way higher approval rating than Obamacare even though it’s the same thing. Medicare for all is going to poll better (if I were to guess) than universal healthcare or socialized healthcare despite essentially being the same thing. People are familiar with Medicare, I wouldn’t be surprised if the approval for it was that high, but as soon as you change the term or throw socialism propaganda at these people they will be against it.

Do you actually talk to republicans? I’m assuming you’re in a blue state or at least a blue area. If you talk to someone in a blue collar job about M4A, about the stupidity of having your ability to have health care being tied to your goddamn job, about being able to get screened for cancer and shyt without worrying about the outcome of the test possibly breaking the bank, a lot of them will react in a way you probably don’t expect.

Because they’ve literally never been told the truth about what it would do for them or even what it would entail. About how their taxes might slightly rise, but they’re not paying for health care out of their checks every fukking month. About how the ridiculous prices of medication would be neutered. They literally don’t know this shyt because the media they listen to doesn’t talk about it. And if, by some off chance, they do happen to check out MSNBC, they’re fukking trashing it on there too because they have their own agenda against it too.

I think most reasonable people who aren’t wealthy or working for a health insurance company, once having it broken down to them, can see just how fukked our system is. But they just aren’t told and they see it as normal
Yes, I have talked to Republicans in real life. Most of them don't rock with M4A.

Cool. Well I live in KY and work in construction with MAGA mouthbreathers everyday. I feel that you can possibly make people see the error of their previous thinking if you’re able to simplify and talk to them calmly about how it’s in their best interest. I have with other issues. But you got your anecdotal evidence and I’ve got mine so :yeshrug:

Several people have and you even wrote this was to cover for Biden because the parliamentarian said no to including the $15 minimum wage. Try being a less toxic.

Stop trying to deflect from your own comments. I’ve spoke in favor of all of things you say I “don’t care about”.
Except they don't have to follow the parliamentarian. The votes are there to go around it, and that was also explained.

And you out here telling us to celebrate something the Khashoggi report while Biden won't punish the piece of shyt who ordered the killing.

Try those happy pills.

Yeah but M4A is a specific thing. Most Republicans associate the "Medicare 4 All" label with "socialism", "communism", "tyranny", "government oppression", etc.

No way, those polls are accurate.
They associated Obamacare with the same thing. They literally had to label it something else there so they would use it.

i dont see it as a failure :yeshrug: put the minimum wage to a vote right before the midterms, and force the republicans to vote it down then

That's a horrible idea. If they stick with the 2025 timeline, the Republicans have a built-in excuse to vote it down. Then the Dems will have to push the timeline back to as late as 2028, at which point it will already be too little too late to make a difference.

Sounds like you've never talked to Republicans.

As long as Trump and the FOX News are against M4A they will be too. No amount of educating them on the subject will make a difference.

The minimum wage should really be closer to 20. I don’t get why not have it in the covid relief bill. It’ll never become an easier battle to fight.

people deserve a living wage to help catch us up to the rest of the developed world. This is crazy that this is even having to be a fight. If it doesn’t happen now I’m not confident it ever will.
