Pentagon chief purges defense boards of Trump appointees

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has ordered hundreds of Pentagon advisory board members to resign this month as part of a broad review of the panels, essentially purging several dozen last-minute appointments under the Trump administration.

During the last two months of his tenure, former acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller removed a number of longtime members from several defense policy, health, science and business boards and replaced many with loyalists of former President Donald Trump. More than 30 of those replacements will now be forced to resign, including former GOP House speaker Newt Gingrich, retired Brig. Gen. Anthony Tata and former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

State Minimum Wage Increases for 2020 (Map) - HR Daily Advisor

According to this site, West Virginia's minimum wage is already set to increase to $12.00 an hour by 2023. The federal minimum wage would gradually increase to $15 by 2025. They're not that far off from each other.

Even if you want to argue that it's too fast to increase it by 2025, if you push the timeline back a year, that's still a dollar per year until they reach $15, an increase at the same rate it currently is.
He is making another right-wing based argument.

Is it just me or are Republicans hella :flabbynsick: right now?

The void left by Trump is noticeable. The whole party and right wing media seems hella discombobulated and incoherent. Cornyn tweeting about Hunter, Mitch attacking the Qanon caucus, the sensible Republicans bringing a ass-halted relief bill to the table, Hawley scared to show his face, McCarthy emasculated...

Meanwhile Biden is moving like a machine. When this relief bill passes his approval rating might hit 60+.
The GOP have gotten everything they’ve wanted the last forty years. You have to remember that.

We will see how the GOP maneuvers after the impeachment trials and stimulus debate passes. Remember back in 2009 when there was negotiations for the $700 billion stimulus Republicans couldn’t do shyt. The Tea Party had its rumblings around spring and summer 2009. So it’s really early to tell what course they will go. My best bet is they won’t moderate because their base doesn’t want to moderate. The Republican base has fully embraced white nationalist fascism.
If the next big legislation to be debated in the summer and fall of this year is immigration get ready for open white supremacist talking points. Immigration always gets white conservatives even so called “moderate” ones up in a bytch fit. If it’s healthcare get ready for the same tired talking points about socialism which probably won’t work but plenty of big insurance and pharmaceutical companies don’t want change so they will pump into the messaging just like with Obamacare.
The biggest difference this time around is well Trump. We shall see how he survives the impeachment trial and his many law suits. My best guess he won’t survive it. The idea of him starting a far right political party will likely fail since he won’t have the funds to support it. The GOP will just take the Trumpism template go along with it to entice and energize the base for the midterms. The GOP state legislatures in swing state are already passing voter suppression laws to make sure what happened in 2020 doesn’t happen again. They have the Supreme Court to back them. Georgia is going to be the major fight for voter suppression because the GOP is still shocked about that loss. They already got voter suppression laws on deck right now. And expect a right wing campaign to demonize senator Warnock since he will be up for re-election in two years. We have won the battle but the war is far from over.
