Either way, there needs to be an exit strategy to get him out and have someone that Americans actually like run. Kamala and Pete seem like the most likely choice, but I don't see enough being done to promote them. Pete's seemed to make a few pushes recently, Kamala's got the GOP troll army turning everything she does into an attack (like really blatant reaches).
Newsome clearly has aspirations as does Pete. I'm sure a few others will throw their name in the hat as we get closer to 2024.

Newsome's a good name drop. But I think that with the executive branch, they have a chance to actually promote somebody rather than have those guys all promoting themselves. Another 20-person field doesn't seem ideal with Trump or Desantis being obvious front-runners for the GOP and a whole lot of election tampering and voter disenfranchisement planned. It's like they've got a four year head start.

Stupid Democrats. Biden or bust. He may end up as the luckiest 2 term President in history but he's their only hope for 2024. Nobody else can beat Trump.

I understand this and they likely will push whoever looks good closer to 2024.

I just believe the white house playing into 1 term Biden and looking for successors prior to midterm would suggest that they felt their only purpose was to beat Trump and not do anything else.

That certainly wouldn't help any midterm messaging about why you should vote for dem candidates. JMO.

The thing is that it doesn't matter. They gon vote for him regardless if he's the nominee.

I kick it with a lot of people who don’t follow politics closely but we’re hype to vote against trump. If it’s Biden vs desantis, they won’t vote for desantis but a lot of them have made allusions to not voting period.

Sounds good but given that we've been watching this dog and pony show for nearly two years, why fall for it again. Manchin agrees to something, Sinema drags her feet and shytcans it. Sinema agrees to something, Manchin drags his feet and shytcans it. In this case, last year Sinema said she didn't support any changes to carried interest tax policy. Today we learn Manchin and Schumer agree to some pretty noteworthy tax changes...including on carried interest. So the end result will be Sinema once again shytcanning a major agreement and embarrassing the president within the next week or two.

Only way this game ends is by neutralizing both Sinema and Manchin. Republicans sure seem to be trying their best to fumble the senate in November so who knows, maybe democrats get the luck of the century and hold it....but they better end up with at least 51 seats. Preferably 52.
