Lastly, people with degrees make more money and have more opportunities to make money Than people without them

He's not authorizing new spending. The Education Secretary waiving, settling, and compromising student debt is not new money.

What bill? The government is owed money by lenders, the ask is to write down that debt. Forgiving a debt is not the same thing as writing a check.

If someone owes me $100 and I say "you know what? keep it, we're good", I don't have to now find $100.

Basically it’s not cancelling but waiving collection or making alternative settlements.

There’s no discussion to be had. People were calling me a Republican because I stated a fact that the 1.8 trillion owed to the DOE has to be paid by someone. Either the borrowers, the White House or congress can authorize new spending

Biden cancelling 10k is something he can probably rearrange some previous authorized spending for to pay off. The billion dollars he has already forgiven was money he found in the White House couch cushions

We need reform. Current and future borrowers need relief. Not just the selfish people that currently have debt

Multiple posters on this site have said they can afford to pay their student loans off but they'd rather not. Not everyone wanting and pining for student debt relief is struggling. And that's okay. No problem with being selfish about wanting to get ahead
