65-70% of me feels like they're gonna do something substantial, right before mid terms. So they're either gonna cancel them, or do the 50k forgiveness.. which in itself is pretty fukking big. And like you said.. I think they slide right through them midterms.
And if they don't do something like this, they've only got themselves to blame.
The same thing they were doing when they were paying them previously.
I'm not even trying to be against it. Just that people around the 1k a month payment will still have substantial student debt repayment if Biden canceled 10k like he said.
That argument was very strong during peak Covid and high unemployment but with college degree holding unemployment around 2% it's time to be serious about what repayment is going to look like for many Americans even if there is large scale student debt relief.
This is just basic without even thinking about how debt relief will affect principle vs accrued interest.

That's exactly what Biden ran on tho. Then after he won.. it got scaled back to '50k' .. then the more moderate dems stayed on his ass and the '10k' magically started to gain steam.
It's really simple.. either he wipes out the loan debt, or at the MINIMAL forgives the 50k, or the dems are gonna get waxed, and he'll be a 1 term president.
This shyt aint algebra.. and I'm sure he knows it.
