The single didn’t blow up like they thought but I bought the album because I first heard him on “2 Glock 9’s” off of a soundtrack. He snapped and I’ve followed him ever since.

“Still Ain’t Forgave Myself” is one of my GOAT songs. TIP is like Trick Daddy, GOAT early career and fizzled down

same...i remember seeing the video alot just never really payed attention to it like that...it was one of them joints that came on rap city and i'd go do something real quick while it was in the background

i remember i used to see the video and think "who the fukk is this nikka? :dwillhuh:" cause he had neptunes on the beat, beanie on the hook, half of atlanta in that damn video and it was always getting spins on rap city even though no one around my way was fukking with the song even a little bit.

then he popped up outta nowhere on neva scared and i was like... "this dude again?"

then 24's dropped. :ehh:

then Be Easy dropped. :ehh: but still kinda whatever (for the record, i fukked with Be Easy way more than 24's back then).

then that fukking Rubberband Man video dropped with Puff and Bow Wow in it and it was over. :wow:

Thats top secret information
I remember not really caring for it and thinking that him driving the car out the dealership thru the window was stupid....but my boy from Texas (I was in the army at the time) swore up and down that TI and Freeway had next. He really thought that line about doing a song with Jesus and Jay Z was ill. He would go in about TI and Freeway with a passion. I co signed him on Freeway but would clown him about TI.....Boy did I have it backwards.

It wasn't popping like that...He didn't really seem to hit with a lot of us until that 2nd album Trap Muzik...Honestly I didn't even think it was listenable.

It was a lukewarm reception in the A. I dug it because he was spittin but honestly the streets didn't see the vision... until later.

overlooked. dont recall it getting much of any play on bet and only a bit more on the box at the time. i loved the production but i think it came off too mainstream and u def didnt hear southern rappers sounding like this at the time. its crazy he only had to hav been around 20 y/o at the time.

National reception? Slept on and I didn't care too much bout the song/video myself but had the CD was bumping it hard, especially

Still Ain't Forgave Myself
Do It (When played at a shake junt :wow:)
What's Yo Name (personal theme for a minute :wow:)
Heavy Chevys
Dope Boyz

But as most know and have said, he didn't blow up until Trap Muzik and riding the wave of that made up beef with Flip.

I fukking hated this song.....

And T.I himself shared that same sentiment this is when TIP was on Arista and he said he didn't like the fact that LA REID 'forced" him to create a sound based on trends....

Beenie man was on fiyah at the time ..had achieved success in America as a hardcore dancehall artist whom still had credibility back home in Jamaica (still cutting dubplates..still clashing..and beefing with Bounty Killa)

But this song was AZZ...none of the Jamaican soundsytems was playing this rassclaat garbage ...

Which was strange considerding at that time u could not survive as a Soundsytem without playing a Beenie track..yet this one nah Mek it breddrin :camby:
