You say "the purpose of God's plan"

but the narrative of Abraham is to test him by asking him to sacrifice his son, which he agrees to do up until actually killing him when his hand stayed by the Angel of the LORD.

So what is God's plan there? Remember The angel also was the one who told Hagar she would conceive and bear Ishmael.

And according to Islam: Allah is the most compassionate, the most merciful.

And if Abraham(Ibrahim) is a prophet of both religions, and God speaks to Abraham, What he does is important (and to who). Especially if the covenant is with Abraham through his seed (not Isaac, and Jacob etc etc). This means that the circumcision is cutting off something from the manchild that isnt completely known to Gentiles but is to Jews (something that attempts completely cover your member that grows out of your member)

I think you’re overlooking man’s role in Gods plan (or mans plan vs Gods) and how God knows what man will do and guides/tests him. But the POINT is in the lesson of the story and the prophecy fulfilled

Anyways….. you failed to mention your opinion on the video :sas1:

Or did I miss it? :sas2:

Maybe you can’t say what you think :hubie:

I’m more concerned with actual history and facts when it comes to Islam instead of the superstitious, fantasy and make believe aspects of the religion.

But if I wanted to know about Jinn, I’d study Arab paganism

Well you seem interested by the way pre-islamic history has been interwoven with Islam so how are Jinn any different?

i didnt watch it

i think people overblow the whole "God knows what we will do before we do it"

I said it in another post but technically there isnt anything we do that we dont ask God for (because what hasnt God made?). So when I say we are known by what we ask God its very literal.

This is why Islam and its teachings confuse you. It doesnt confuse me its straightforward even with the things I dont agree with. It was never concocted the same way the Torah or the Gospels were. Its purpose was to subdue magicians/sorcerers IMO

thats why you look funny in the light wrestling with it  if you believe what you believe why assume you need to take down other beliefs. Shouldnt God work through those people?

Ok Breh I hear you lol

But this isn’t about a theological debate. It’s just looking back at what happened in history objectively

And yea we can make conclusions based off our own biases….. me being Christian

And Muslims will continue believing the narrative Imams and their Quran and Hadith and Sira tell them

BUT I’m interested in what happened in 6th-7th century leading up to the creation/formation of ISLAM

We don’t have a wealth of info or studies on this so all these new discoveries and theories are refreshing.

If you are someone interested in finding the TRUTH as I assumed you should watch the video

If you don’t wanna trust a YouTube video go read Tom Hollands book “In the shadow of the sword” on the topic

You like most Muslims want to engage in theological debates which ultimately depend on interpretation and blind beliefs/faith. There’s no point in debating the Bible vs the Quran or even trying to reconcile the two.

Approach the topic from the perspective of a non believer who is just interested in history.

You can’t debate history. What happened actually happened.:yeshrug:
