One of the ideas I have heard is a network of satellites that run a close orbit around the sun. These would either beam microwaves back to some collector, or would charge onboard batteries that would be delivered to some outpost somewhere.

They would have to be maintained, and the star won't expand for billions of years.

Our knowledge on energy is likely still primitive, I doubt an advance civilization is using stars/ dyson spheres to power their tech. Multi dimensional, gravitational tools that pulls energy from the literal expansion and flexing of the universe sounds a lot more efficient being that the sun is literally created by gravity. But I don’t know shyt tho, I’m just guessing.
