never the less, Big L had mad years in the game and still couldnt get on or shine. I hate to speak anything ill of the dead but too many people want to claim like he was the next big or nas.

Personally, I never checked for big l til after he died. The big picture was dope with great production. However, his first album wIth "MVP" was mediocre IMO.

All 3 you named (outside Jay-Z) is not there rapping abilities, 50 cent makes good songs and got shot 9 times went with Em and Dre. DMX had that gritty feel when hiphop went shiney and he makes hits plus barking like a rabies infected dog . Jay-Z sided with the right people at the right time.

Big L was dope, but I think eventually he would have to get some songs with substance and not just lyrically superb street songs.
I agree and disagree.....I would say he's a little overated ....but bein on the right team can change your situation drastically...Camron wuznt really relevant outside the east coast until Rocafella so its hard to judge his star power...I wouldna guessed Murda Mase or Camron had star power from the rhymes as raw as Murda wuz....but signing with the right people and gettin a image makeover can change things...rocafella woulda been the perfect label for him to show and prove.....Lifestyles of the Poor and Bigger Picture ain't classics to me......at that particular time Fabolous woulda pretty much made him irrelevant in the commercial lane,he wuz the multi/punchline dude nikkas wuz checkin for in 99...I couldn't see L navigatin his lane,but on rocafella he certinly woulda had the means to make classic albums if he wuz built for it.
