Like more people were upset with Logan dying, Quicksilver dying, Rorschach, and countless others but most were "meh" when he died and dont seem to care whether he's in JL or not (though we all know he coming back) but it didnt move a needle

I still think Cavill could be a great Superman, but they never give him shyt to work with.

Superman is a non character in both Man of Steel and BvS. So much of those movies is just about how the rest of the world reacts to Superman and him being "Alien like" as if he wasn't raised by two earthlings on a farm in Kansas.

And thats a big problem there in itself when no one else is saying that about other super heros

- Movie is so fukking colorless, like there is zero color. Compare Dark Knight to this and there is just no color, just bland.

You know what else pisses me off about this? The reasoning behind it.

Anybody on that "Well it's got darker color palettes in order to be more grounded and realistic" is full of shyt. Bright colors exist in the real world. Same goes for people on that "Bright colors don't film very well" bullshyt as if there aren't tons of films with brightly colored costumes that look GORGEOUS.

Snyder just likes doing that dark gloomy muted emo core shyt for his superhero films.

I think it's underrated.

I'm not saying it's on the same level as The Dark Knight or Logan, but I'd give it a solid 7.5/10. Not a bad flick at all IMO.

• Some of the characters were badly written, Pa Kent especially
• The entire tornado sequence was pretty goofy
  
• Superman using his powers recklessly with the truck and drone, to me that showed he came off more like Hancock than Superman

Overall the movie was meh at best and I'd say it is the best movie in the DCEU so far.

Some of that is also because he didn't have to fukking die.

There's NO logical reason why Wonder Woman couldn't have killed Doomsday with that spear. She put up a better fight against Doomsday than Superman or Batman.

I swear that's such a huge problem with these movies. They have stuff they want to do and instead of coming up with a logical way of getting there they just the just get to those moments by any means if it's it's nonsensical.

i gave this thread a very very brief glance.

the main problem that i have with MoS and subsequently BvS is the villian selection.

a young superman, crime-fighter wise, already faced and beat two of his toughest villains, a group from his home planet and doomsday.

outside of darkseid and brainiac, what remaining villains could be possibly matched against him on the big screen?

damn shame that the DCCU has written themselves into a corner as far as superman is concerned.

they really have not touched upon superman's vulnerability to magic yet.
