This one of my biggest pet peeve. My dad got a cheap flip phone and still cant navigate to contacts comfortably.
Mother calling me to come over to pull up a simple website or fill out an online form. She got like 50 web browsers open all the same site.
This is sheer ignorance. If I failed a computer class in High School they'd be on my ass.

It's literally modern day fighting words to do such a thing. Anyone with common sense should recognize that by now. Instead of being surprised when they catch hands when trying to enforce it with the wrong one.
people were shooting up stores during covid because they were told to wear masks., but you think you can peacefully confiscate cell phones? don't be stupid.
after a certain point need to employ common sense instead of leaning too much on tradition. Society changes, you used to be able to smack your kids in public, people learned quickly that doing that these days will get you in trouble. Don't just blindly take an old school approach to everything
if a child assaults a teacher for taking their phones then again they need to be expelled and their education needs to take place somewhere else where they aren’t distracting other students and ruining their education experience and wasting our tax dollars.

To be honest, I can see why a lot of them old folks don’t fukk with computers that much. All the spam email I get, like I get about three messages a day about my Amazon prime account NOT from Amazon.
I be looking at the emails just to see if they’re getting less obvious about the emails being fake.
Like, you’d have to have a lot of general understanding of a computer to know certain things. If you didn’t get into computers while they was coming out, you’re already behind.

No way you go from hanging out in the arcades in the 80s. to not know how to use an email 40 year later.Them old nikkas was playing pong and galaga in the 80s, they can figure out how click send. People in this photo are probably hitting late 50s mid 60s now, think about that. The older 70 to 80 seniors aren't even a full generation removed. thats just 10 , 15 years

Everyone wasnt adjusting. Everyone didnt have a reason to adjust yet. It was just tech savvy people and kids. Its just like if some new unfamiliar tech dropped right now but we were decades away from it being the norm. Most adults aint about to jump on that bandwagon. Also those of us that have grown up with certain technology underestimate the difference between learning some totally new shyt at 35 vs. not remembering actually learning it because it was just always something that was there. Its like expecting an adult to be as responsive to a new language as a child being immersed in it.
If you're referring to schools, they can. It literally says exactly that in the guidelines for every case where a student lost their mind over a teacher doing it.
