How much do you personally tip at a restuarant?

Where are you eating and/or who y'all feeding where y'all getting $150+ dollar bills. Them IT certs I tell ya
20% for good to gr8 service... Maybe a LIL over...

if me and my girl go out with another couple the bill is easily $150 for four people.
4 people having 2 drinks each ($8-$10 per drink) - let's say $75
4 meals at $18 per plate - $72
sometimes i say fukk it and have 3 drinks...there goes a $150 bill right there.
But in that case you arent paying for the entire meal, just you and your dates portion so would you tip based on the total (150) or just what you and your date spent (75)
i'm paying for me and my girl and tipping on the $75 so i'd leave 15-16 bucks.

I start with 20%. If everything is average, thats where i'm at.
I go over 20% if I eat/drink what's on special - generally to 20% of whatever the regular price is. Also over 20% if the server is good or friendly or whatever.
If the tab is a bill, the difference between a shytty tip and a decent one is like $5. Not worth much to the customer, but if everyone did it, the server's night is different. If you can't deal with that difference, maybe just stay home.
I can't tell you the last time I had crappy service at a restaurant. My expectations must be low. I think I tipped 15% like six years ago, because my wife was annoyed with the server. So, she convinced me to tip lower than normal.
