fair enough. i would often do super sets with deadlifts and pull ups.
funny enough i would always assume i could only do like 10-12 wide grip pull ups...until i actually tried 20 one day and did it with ease
what makes dumbbell press better? and ive neverheard of dips being better. i'm curiousCouple things I hate: when people ask how many reps of 225 or what’s your bench max, the other answers that “deadlifts and squats or some shyt shows better strength.” Man ain’t nobody ask you that, they just asked how much you bench.
The other is going too far saying barbell bench does nothing. It may be true that dumbbell press or dips may be better for chest. Doesn’t mean barbell bench is a waste. I do all 3 on chest days.
Yall boys don't need to be posting on The Coli. If this isn't cap, you guys are wasting your talent. We have potential strength athletes in this thread...
If he’s 155 doing SETS of 225, he must be pure muscle. Definitely less than 10% body fat. 155 is pretty small... unless you’re like 5’5My brother is 155lbs and does sets of 225. It's normal for my family at least.
Some swear by them because of the range of motion you do with them versus the somewhat more limited chest work with the barbell. I think the same for dips. But I was just saying those MAY be true, but if someone asks what you bench, nobody needs to know other shyt is better. It just lets us know your bench ain’t shyt cause you copping pleas.what makes dumbbell press better? and ive neverheard of dips being better. i'm curious
chest days i would typically do flat barbell bench, incline dumbbell press, around the worlds lying on my back, pectoral fly machine, and then dips or tricep pullbacks
i miss the gym. this covid shyt got me fukked up

I use to hoop with a pierre garcon and a couple other lesser known skins otr...these dudes are in the 1% for a reason
I'm definitely not weak. I just don't even do silly exercises like the bench press. I train exclusively with calisthenics movements (i.e. pushups, pullups, dips, and squats). You know movements that build functional strength.
All I'm saying is the average guy is probably not as fit as elite NFL RBs. We know based on the combine each year that many of those guys can barely max out at 10 reps on the 225 bench press. Thus its highly unlikely the average Coli poster is doing that.
Its like guys who claim they can easily do 30+ pullups in a row when in reality that is world class caliber pullup endurance. Guys who focus exclusively on calisthenics can barely do that but we have random posters who don't even do calisthenics regularly claiming they can.
Oh so you one of them gymnastic nikkas in Lululemon that be doing a million pull-ups because that's all you can do.
Taking up space in the middle of the cross over machine and shyt cause you can't lift.
Aight playa.
