225 for 15 is my usual. My pr is 335. Pyramid sets and drop sets are the best for building up your bench.....also don’t do bench the day after you killed triceps or shoulder as your lifts won’t be as strong since bench press uses shoulders and triceps as well as primarily working the pectoral

I’m saying right now I can dumbbell press the 120’s for 4 and hit 225 15 times and my max is like 295,the 200’s are definitely equivalent to a 315+ bench press

Lol I see where the confusion was, my b.

When I said 200lb dumbbell press, i meant total weight. as in 2x 100lb dumbells.

If i could bench 400lb worth of dumbbells 30x, I would be setting records somewhere i'm sure.

You need to ask how old these dudes are. 225 20 times is elite for a 22 year old college running back. Saquan barkley did it for 30 reps at the combine. Also the power clean is the true test for how explosive a rb/lb/lineman is.

I'm 39 and have been benching since I was 14 with some breaks in between. Just last week I benched 275 18 times***. I don't think I was able to consistently do 10 reps of 225 until I was 25.

*** Last year when I weighed 185-190 I would do 245 consistently for 15 reps. But thanks to covid I'm fat now at 215 lbs :flabbynsick: but the plus side is that I have the energy to throw up 275 lbs for 15+ reps on a regular basis. I need to get back to god body status.

20 pull-ups straight is elite for sure I hardly ever see anyone doing that.

225 10 times is really good but again I think 225 15+ times is considered elite
fair enough. i would often do super sets with deadlifts and pull ups.

funny enough i would always assume i could only do like 10-12 wide grip pull ups...until i actually tried 20 one day and did it with ease

The fukk?

I know 50+ year old gym rats that push 225lbs for 5x10 and still keep going.

I do 5x10 of 225lbs and I still have energy.

You just mad cause you're weak. :umad:

I'm definitely not weak. I just don't even do silly exercises like the bench press. I train exclusively with calisthenics movements (i.e. pushups, pullups, dips, and squats). You know movements that build functional strength.

All I'm saying is the average guy is probably not as fit as elite NFL RBs. We know based on the combine each year that many of those guys can barely max out at 10 reps on the 225 bench press. Thus its highly unlikely the average Coli poster is doing that.

Its like guys who claim they can easily do 30+ pullups in a row when in reality that is world class caliber pullup endurance. Guys who focus exclusively on calisthenics can barely do that but we have random posters who don't even do calisthenics regularly claiming they can.
