I see you been watching that bullshyt ass youtube series Stunted Growth. Chino Xl was in the same place before AND after being mentioned by 2pac. If you didn't buy Here to Save You All, you didn't buy I Told You So. He had his own fan base like Ras Kass and Jurassic 5. He was never going to sell records. Please don't take anything that dude says on his delusional videos as truth. The dumb mfer said Gang Starr had a stunted growth after dropping numerous classic albums and crossing over to the mainstream without trying to haha. He's a goddamn joke.

Never even heard of whatever series you’re talking about

you're sitting here telling us you don't hear what you hear? Eminem said it himself that he was using AZ style in 96 trying to find himself. He was not using the multisyllable flow in 96. Two songs from the album are posted. Chino been had that style and even he admits he got it from G Rap. Stop it please. Infinite eminem and SSLP are 2 different flows. Eminem admits it. No way did chino xl bite a guy that wasn't even rapping like him in '96. That makes absolutely no sense when Chino had been rhyming that way for years!!!

Nah, the AZ voice thing, I hear.

A lot of dudes were definitely sounding like A after Doe or Die. But Em started using the multi's after he was in Jersey with the Outsidaz. The whole crew talks about how they saw him develop with their style when he was with them, and he speaks about it a lot too. The only people speaking about Chino, are people online, nobody in the game ever mentions that. Em always lists his influences, Chino ain't one of them.

So it's not about Em being different from '95 to '98. Of course he was, but who inspired dude during that run has always been spoken about. And it ain't no damn Chino XL, lol. Chino in 2001 sounded like a bootleg Marshall. Chino was the one that came out saying Em was biting him, and then after that, all the casuals ran with it. And the only reason why dude said that was because underground people said he was sounding like Em on that second album. That's when he started lashing out claiming that Em was biting him. Which was bullsh*t. And now here we are, 20+ years later, and now people online are repeating the same sh*t, lol. Hilarious.

Dude I’m 47. I was 19 when chino dropped his debut album. I was 22 the year SSLP came out. I was saying the same shyt THEN and no one knew who chino was outside of “hit ‘em up”. I have ORIGINAL PRESSINGS of SSLP and other Eminem and D12 albums. I have original Pressings of chino xl vinyl and cds. I was actually saying Beanie bit Jada long before they were beefing. Do u know what Jada verse beanie copied for “reservoir dogs”? If I tell you, you’re gonna say “I knew that” , so I’ll let you tell me lol. I’m a hip hop historian. I do this. Don’t ever confuse me with these mfers that only listen to top 40. I have THOUSANDS of vinyl, cds and tapes along with over 30 years of hip hop mags saved up.

That's cool, but what you said in 1996 and your record collection ain't really what the topic is, lol.

WNYU and Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito used to play tracks off of Chino's first album all the time. Before it dropped! He was getting a lot of love in the underground. If you're 47, then you know this was BEFORE "Hit 'Em Up" even dropped. He was touring in the tri-state area with Ras Kass, Jay-Z, Fugees, and The Roots. Spring '96. So nah, plenty of us knew exactly who Chino was before Pac mentioned him. He's from Jersey. Cella Dwellas and Nick Wiz had him with them a lot doing freestyles on college radio way before they dropped their first album in '96.

So yeah, this is common knowledge for the heads who were around back then. Especially in NYC/NJ. I appreciate your "I'm a Hip Hop historian" line. That's cool. But I've been in the business since the 90's, and have not just been around most of these people we've mentioned, but have worked with them. 98% of what I'm saying isn't my opinion. It's just what it was back then. So if you're 47, then you should know exactly what I'm speaking about and know that back in '96, this was how all of this played out.

I’ve been around a lot of them too. I’ve toured and did a lot of shows with well known rappers. So yes, I knew who chino was before hit ‘em up.

He took an L but he was aight afterwards. 90's P maybe would have put up a better fight and I don't think his heart was really in it but at least he sent shots back on Infamy even if Jay got him. At least he didn't bytch out like Cole. Plus Mobb still had hits afterwards and signed to G-Unit. Also Return of the Mac was fire.
90's P would have crushed Jay

#1 Em has always been using Multi's, when him and Proof met that's one reason they connected because of how they rapped.

#2 Nope, most people thought Em was black and sounded like Redman when the SSEP dropped. I'm from Detroit and was on MSU campus back then. shyt had college radio on fire. Red was a major influence on Em. Nobody was thinking about or mentioning Chino XL during his first album run. He didn't started getting buzz nationally until that Wake Up Show album with 3 to the Dome on it. Em was on the same album and those cats weren't sounding alike then neither.
