Every now and again I see a post or tweet of people in disbelief hat there's a grocery store called "Piggly Wiggly" and it leaves me... in disbelief
Ain't nothing special about em, they just have a cool name



So NON-southern folk... have you heard of the 'Hoggly Woggly' as my Pops would call it?

BRUH. You ain’t lying. I’m from Florida but went to high school in Charleston. When I went back and mentioned to people that there’s a store called Piggly Wiggly nobody believed me until they confirmed for themselves. It is a fukking wild name though.

The founder of Publix George Jenkins use to work for Piggly Wiggly. He drove all the way From Lakeland, Florida to Atlanta (I belive) to complain to the Piggly Wiggly corporate office about the company. They told him to screw off and he went and started his own company.

Black use to have to get served on the side of the building.
