Melo may not be a Lebron or Kobe or Wade as a franchise player but he's in that upper level second tier superstar race. With the right players around like a good shooting pass first point guard and two bangers at the PF and C position and a shooter/slasher at SG Melo can at least get a team to the Conference Finals. He's done that before in the tought West. But what he should have did was get traded to the Bulls and no one else should have been an option. He could have took Deng's spot and had another All Star playing with him and Thibs would have made him into a decent defender. Im hoping that Melo and the Knicks make some noise but i don't really see it happening.

:wtf: you sound like this nikka y'allsohhmadd

-:leostare:School In Session:

Like i said dude you and "fans" like you are stuck in this superstar bs and don't see the bigger picture.

Knicks are paying Melo a max salary($20,463,024 $22,407,474 $24,351,924:whew:) next 3 years. Pretty soon they will have to think about extending him. Amare is on a max salary too and nobody is willing to trade for(with this CBA) him on two bad knees. Can you realistically see this knicks team contending with a team built around Melo? No! if you paying that much money and your biggest hope is to "make the playoffs" and "do some noise" than you aren't going anywhere.

:snoop:I think the Knicks trading the house for Melo was one of the biggest mistake they made. All they needed with that D'Antoni offense was a PG.

It amazes me how people still lean on that gimmick as some sort of proven system.

please stick to espn you sound stupid  one you using hindsight it's no way to tell if melo comes to NYC without stat , two we replaced the entire bench we lost how do you think we got Lin ? Novak ? And we were able to get chandler you have a problem with him??
Why are you worried about Melos money he's the only player capable of carrying a team that we were able to get saving money would of left us like Dallas signing bit pieces to fill up our roster . The Knicks have a long period of sucking so you think Knicks fans would rather be bad then have melo and make the playoffs the next 3 seasons ?

:umad: Two quotes from non-Knicks fans:

I'll always remember that 42 - 17 game

We had nothing for him that game, that shyt had me nervous as fukk

I'm a Bulls fan and I remember him draining the game winner over Deng and co., I was mad cause I knew he was gonna do the hesitation to pull up too.

2004-05 (62-20) - WCF

@23statcity
So you'd rather be bum team, make the playoffs rather try something different to see if you can contend? You dont have to put lin as PG but with that Anthony trade you could get better complimentary pieces for the team that the knicks had. :win:

And y do u keep using ESPN as credible counter-argument? :umad:

Exactly. What did it prove outside of limited success? In a copy cat league, no one is copying Mike _'Antoni's system for a REASON.

And with _'Antoni they're......?

You expected them to beat the Celtics, didn't you?

Where were you when I needed to make some bets?
