You're missing the point. It's about the journalists not relating to the target demographic of hip hop at all, therefore allowing uniformed critiques to be considered legitimate reviews and diluting hip hop culture as a whole
Most of the publications in this thread don't relate to the target demo of Hip Hop because the target demo of Hip Hop isn't their audience. Spin, Rollingstone, Pitchfork, Complex, nor Noisey are Hip Hop publications. They aren't writing from the perspective of a Hip Hop listener or even a casual fan of Hip Hop. They cover many different genres of music and some of them cover entertainment in general.
