gq is not our culture, nor is new york times... some of the other publications have limited focus on hiphop...so i think we should also look at the bigger picture other than just the number of staff. how much of the publication is dedicated to "black culture"?

This is the ultimate point of my thread. But somehow, the idea of black people wanting something of their own is seen as "dangerous" or "detrimental" to whatever or whoever.

I salute the brothers and sisters making moves especially now in this internet era. There are more than ever now. I would not want to forget them.

But to not acknowledge the fact that there are mental barriers that have permeated because of the aforementioned would be a disservice to the reality of the situation. It's easier said than done. We could easily pool together enough capital to make something happen, but it's all about those who are really willing to commit to it.

I think to say Kanye is a hypocrite is kind taking away the human traits of him. I mean He's admitted himself that he's a hypocrite. Human beings are complex. Kanye is a socially conscious black man who is trying to maneuver and learn game in a business that is majorly white, with generational white wealth and barriers. So he's obviously Torn between the two.

When the majority of business and publications and practically everything is owned and controlled by white people and white supremacy and you're a black man with a name, influence, wealth, resources, a plan & goal but not enough resources + white supremacy working against you of course it will be frustrating to some degree.

I basically view his tweets as less of a "boo hop white acceptance" and more of a "fukk you for creating and building these walls that have made it so hard for black people to be able to produce and be business men on the level we are very well capable of". I'm sure he echoes some of the same feelings a lot black entrepreneurs who want to make it to that next feel.

I think his heart is in the right place, it's just he's surrounded by and trying to move around and gain his own control in a business owned and controlled full of vultures that is the white majority and he doesn't know exactly how to stay "sane" and keep composure. I think that's a legitimate feeling.
