How mainstream do you see the Atheist movement becoming in the next 20-25 years?

Atheists are on the rise but the only thing i really see "slowing down" in western culture is organized religion.

But lets not act like there aren't various atheists who place their faith in science without using logic + reasoning too:youngsabo:..

*Correction, lets not act like some atheists dont "misinterpret" science like how some religious folk "misinterpret" their belief systems:smugfavre:.

OR, lets not act like all people havent been fed bs from those within the scientific and religious communities.

But when we're given juuust enough truth (in our respective belief systems), plus an infinite amount of distractions and propaganda--- most wont seriously question or delve into their own beliefs, let alone take the time to really learn about others:yeshrug:

A recent Gallup Poll showed that 54% of Americans would vote for a well qualified atheist. This is a notable improvement cause that number used to be much lower.

yeah I heard joy bayheart say that last night on her show when she interviewed Jesse da body

I was shocked & so was Jesse

I am sure the imported religion had alot to do with why the richest continent for resources has some of the poorest countries. Praise Allah and jesus for keeping the first man down :lawd:

No it has more to do with foreign demons using divide and conquer, proxy leadership, bi0l0g1c@l w@f@re and outright military force to keep them down, friend.

Atheist for Jesus
it comes and goes.
Even biblically speaking there were times when the world fell away from God, it would then usually over-correct with wholesale slaughter of some town or group and religion would be back on top.

Religion ain't going nowheres.

convert some natives so they fight the others. why you think missioners were always sent in first.

One of many methods. Tell other natives, *hey friends, i can help you obtain land and resources in this region. With our combined might we'd be unstoppable*

By appealing to a leaders greed the same results were often obtained.

Another example.

*hey i see you guys are losing the war to the da dun da duns, say i help you and in return you look out for your friend after the dust settles*

Ultimately, people fight for power and use God as a smokescreen. With or without these beliefs, power hungry people will exist and take advantage of others that are weak or with demonic alliances, friend. Im kinda surprised you overlooked that, friend.

At some point in our past there was no religion simply because our brains weren't evolved enough to conceive of such a thing. --Pre-theism

Then our brains evolved to a point where we began to question why things are the way they are, and we created gods and stories to answer these things. --Theism

Now we have science which explains with evidence why things are the way they are. This caused some of us to view these gods/religions as unnecessary. --Post-theism

I think the religious crowd will continue to thin out, but I think 20-25 years is too short or a time-scale. I think it will take at least a couple centuries before encountering a religious person will be like encountering an open atheist now. :manny:

I always wondered why people follow science blindly and then accuse believers of that. I don't know anyone who has ever seen Jupiter and can verify it's size, orbit, etc. But some scientist said it so we all believe it.

I've seen Jupiter

honestly this post is disrespectful to the amount of hard science that goes into determining something like the mass of Jupiter. if you don't believe it, it's all there for you to see and reproduce the results. and those results are confirmed when we use that info to sling-shot a probe onto Saturn with incredible accuracy

Astrologists make cars now? Even if they did, where did the natural resources come from?

Your perception of religion is obviously skewed, as evidenced by your last point. Your argument against it has nothing to do with creationism and everything to do with your distrust for human beings. An evil or crooked man does not disprove God.

Have ever reproduced these results? I'm going to assume you haven't which proves my point that you're following blindly.

Ok. What are you proving? That even though you can't see something that doesn't mean it ceases to exist? Interesting point, friend. Thank you for sharing.
