I like because of jiujitsu i need to learn how to fight inside more so i can use the clinch to setup takedowns.

I need to be comfortable inside

Then you gotta get his respect...when he feints you throw and try to land a quick counter and then step out of his range...keep your hands busier than his if you stay in range.

When sparring:
-Dont look in his eyes, look at his chest. Why? When his chest flexes means he's punching (usually), wherever his chest goes, he goes.

- RELAX! Don't fight tense or jittery, it makes you use too much energy.

-Breath. Do not hold your breath for anything.

-Don't focus on too much of what he's doing, focus on what you need to PRACTICE on, ask your coach before you start. It's sparring, not a fight.

-Learn the art of redirecting your punches. Example: throw 4-5 jabs to his face at different speeds just to see how he reacts and on that 6th punch REDIRECT that jab into hook, quick uppercut or feint the jab and shoot a quick right hand.

- When you land a good punch, DO NOT stand there and admire your work, keep moving or punching.

-KEEP YOUR HANDS UP!

- When tired keep your body language in tact, he doesn't need to know you're tired.

- HAVE FUN!!

*You're just starting so it should not be that serious. You're a trained BJJ fighter and that will come in handy later. You'll see.

The Truth
When someone throws a feint at you

Should you just punch them in the face or.wait to see what theyre gonna do.

Someone three a feint at me that made me blink hard denna muhhhhg. I thought hmmmmm, in sparring should i treat that like a real punch and hit that individual?
I like feints to test and see how that person reacts.

If they feint just weave or get out of range.. Or if you are out of range don't bite. Don't do the same thing over and over though.

If you try to punch them in the face they might be setting you up for a counter or trying to open a spot for you up. Boxers set traps all the time based off of how they think you will react. Maybe throw a light jab and see what he does but expect him to do something off it

Its literally like playing a game of chess and knowing when to be patient and when to strike. I haven't sparred in a minute so I'm not sure how I reacted atm. Plus I was the one doing most the feints... Then it depended on the style i was boxing. If I was out of range or inside. I didn't see many fakes on the inside. Out of range, i was usually on my toes trying to inch my way in and out with jabs or trying to bait the person in hard so I could get deep in range (especially taller fighters)

Sometimes I wouldn't do anything but that was to try to set him up for something else as well.

Then it depends on how fast your hands and reflexes are

He's a beginner idiot, therefore the advice should be level appropriate. Just add on genius. You're doing too much to be different. I get it though.

Why you calling him an idiot just because he's a beginner? We were all beginners once :troll:

If you see someone beating in a heavybag bareknuckle for an extended period of time. This person isnt serious. This person may be crazy.

With gloves AND WRAPS, the knuckle of my left hand swole to shyt from all this power im putting into these drills on the heavybag. fukk that boxers knuckle shyt.

I took two old socks and cut them and im about to fold and use them as padding under my wraps so i dont fukk around and break a tendon in my hand.

Take care of your hands

Do half and half I've been told. If you wrap your hands constantly outside of the ring you'll have glass hands.
