Some athletes stay out of playing shape as soon as they retire, others stay on top of it and in Shannon's case, it is still important.

Props to him, but not surprising as an NFL player has enough training regimen to be brolic forever.

For regular folks, gym, diet, and time will set you straight.

Exactly. If you been on a diet and training regimen for at least 25yrs of life(HS, College, Pros) than it shouldn't be too hard to stay on it after your career is through. By the time your retire, you already know what your body wants/doesn't want, and you already know what it can/can't handle. Getting to that point is the hard part, but Maintenance is the easy part.
