How is it trolling to say you like the Black aesthetic of the 80s?

dominance/the amount of movies/tv series have definitely fallen off since the 80s/90s even early 00s.

Culturally, not socially or economically. That’s why I made the distinction.

I think a lot of people have spent too much time talking about movies television and music As being Some sort of bench marks for what being black is.

I understand this about the entertainment industry it’s ruled by white people and they put out any images they want. If they want 20 black movies to come out this year then they will come out. If they don’t want any black movies to come out this year the none will come out. Is that simple. The country wanted to give the image of Black people moving more into the main stream during the 80s. That’s why you see TV shows like the Cosby show and movies like welcome to America.

Early 90’s too.
Then Southern rappers came into the picture and before you knew it was over.
Culture been trash ever since.

not fair or accurate...there was a shift in the direction of music for the worse close to the mid-90s as far as image goes...and NYC/LA had an obvious role in that...sonically the music was great but if I’m being honest a lot of it was cultural poison and I was either too young and/or ignorant to care...I’m not speaking on all hip hop music from that time but after a while it became obvious what type of image was easier to sell

Then who came and put the nail in the coffin after never really contributing anything of substance anyway?

imo no point in talking about who put the final nail in the coffin when it makes more sense to discuss who put the body in it...they’re not necessarily the same “person”...common made “I used to love her” with good reason/intent :yeshrug:
